Why do some people never leave feedback?

some people don't leave fb when they are not entirely happy, rather than 'make a fuss' they'd rather not leave any fb.

I've seen sellers resorting to all sorts to get their buyers leave fb for them, like asking for 5 stars on fb left for buyers (and get a neg in returns stating 'inappropriate use of fb').

Then why do Ebay send out reminders to buyers to leave feedback. I must admit as a buyer I have had a few and yes ignored them because I did not want to leave feedback for one reason or another. Mainly I was unhappy but it didn't warrant a neutral or negative.

As long as I get my goods I'm happy. I don't see why I should make a special visit to Ebay just to congratulate the seller on sending me what I've paid for. I do normally go through my outstanding feedback list on my infrequent visits to Ebay but some sellers are just sooooooo impatient for those 5-stars.

I respond particularly badly to seller's emails telling me that on receipt of my goods I MUST give them 5-star ratings for everything and I turn really nasty if they persist in sending me email after email asking me to leave feedback.

I remember messaging one seller who sent me daily emails requesting feedback to say I wouldn't be leaving feedback because of her constant requests and she left a negative on mine to say I was very rude. If I'd wanted to be rude I wouldn't have bothered with the message I'd just have left it on her feedback.

I stopped leaving feedback because sellers no longer bother leaving buyers feedback.

    Petty? Probably.

The only reason I like to receive feedback is confirmation of receipt of goods.

I have been selling on Ebay for years now and still wonder why some people do not leave feedback. Okay so some may not leave as they feel a little embarrassed by doing so (believe it or not one Ebayer said they where). Some because they do not think they got what they wanted and sooner than leave bad feedback, leave non. But has anyone (Ebay) ever done a survey to find out why? I have never actually worked out what percentage of mine do so. Is there any program or Ebay tool that can work this out? Has anyone ever questioned customers why?

    I agree with you.
I always leave feedback as soon as the seller does, it must be down to about 3 out of 10 now that bother.

it's not that they don't bother, they won't leave fb for you until you have left it for them, in case you misbehave
fb for buyers should be scrapped altogether, now it's meaningless, and before it was used to retaliate against those who dared to complain

I'm from the old age of ebay.
Seller leaves it first, buyer doesn't get stung with tit for tat feedback.
Made it much more realistic when they changed the rules.

I always leave feedback as soon as the buyer has paid. I have found that you get a better return on feedback if you do this. Now this I did test and got a 20% increase in feedback over a 28 day period. I ran it again over a few months and got the same answer every time. 20% more feedback if you leave feedback first as a seller. I know you will all be up in arms about this but these types of reports where what I did before I had my stroke and had to retire early. Now sat in front of a computer a lot more hours in the day though.

Why though do you need confirmation of receipt? if something is not received you will hear soon enough, so for sanitys sake it is always best to assume everything gets there- unless told otherwise.
