Is DD's friend a thief?
Comments
-
I haven't spoken to school friend since as she never apologised and reimbursed my son.
We've all seen it time and again. Child is caught red-handed smashing a window, pilfering sweets, smoking hash, etc. Mother is informed. She challenges her child who half-heartedly denies the accusation. Fawning mother is far too doting to question her child's version of events. Mum proudly tells complainant "There ya go.. I bleedin' told ya my little darlin' didn't flamin' do it."
It's a double attack on the mother who instinctively retaliates in defence of her child and her parenting skills.0 -
That childhood friendship was surely worth more than £9.40 ?

Not to the thief, that much is obvious. I wouldn't have a known thief in my home and I can't think of anyone sane who would.
Your name is perhaps apt?:D0 -

It's a rarity for me to agree with you ( )
OP, i think if you haven't already you need to contact the friend's parents to get to the bottom of this. Purse don't just magically "dissappear"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Don't take it personally, but has the OP ruled out it being a False Flag Operation?
Could her own child have hidden the purse, perhaps to disguise that she had
mis-spent her own pocket money, and then blamed her friend for the "theft" ?0 -

Maybe I have led a very sheltered life but I haven't seen the things you mention in your post time and again.
I have come across a few dizzy doting mothers who think angel can do no wrong though.0 -

Presumed innocent dear, presumed.;)
Who said I'm a Christian? It's news to me. And my username is apt - that would be the point of it, as it appears is yours. To an alarming degree.;)0 -

I have to be able to trust people, especially people I allow into my house, The friend stated to me quite clearly I had no right to accuse her daughter and couldn't believe I had the nerve to come to her doorstep with wild assumptions, She wouldn't have a barr of it and got very vocal,If i hadn't warned her back she would have got physical. Even when proven wrong no apology was ever forthcoming.
I don't like stuff like that in my life, I also don't want to be suspicious of guests, so would rather not have contact or be around someone who can't deal with things without a kickoff.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
