Hello. I didn't say it was.

I was asking eloise why s/he said Both have to make an effort, but mostly the stepmother.

Oh sorry, I thought you were addressing me because you quoted my post.

Yes, I did. It's an open forum. If you don't want people to respond to your posts, don't post.

I don't mind people responding - but if you don't understand the question don't jump on the bandwagon.

Did you mean Evil stepmother? As obviously - it's all her fault.

[Why exactly does the stepmother have to make most of the effort, ever? Please expand.]

Eerm because she is is the grown up? ;)
I have realised I will never play the Dane! :(

Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!! :p

    And the father isn't?

I think the previous poster (Aloise?) meant the most effort between step-mother and step-sons, not between step-mother and dad. I completely agree that efforts should be made by all to get along, but the step-mother is the one who CHOSE to join the family and so she should be the one who tries the hardest - again, between her and step-sons.

    ^^^ Exactly what Max said!
She is the grown up between her and her husbands children!
Why SHOULDN'T she make the effort if she loves their father? They are children! His children! He is not blameless but he already has his relationship with his children, it is for her to form a relationship with them, and if she is unable or unwilling to do that then why marry a man who has children?

And the OP's stepkids are grown ups! Grown ups! Her husband needs to nurture the relationship as much as she does, after all - he knew he had kids before she did.
