  • Asda was offering £25 a month unlimited te4xts and minutes (ok, 2000 minutes) which is what 3 offer minus the data and internet but they even pulled that last month and replaced it with a shocking £20 offer.

They've had great write ups for ages and I've used them for 2 years but they are now taking the !!!!.
  • GiffGaff uses O2 which is utter pants in many parts of the country, including mine !
  • I see the giffgaff spammers are in again. Seem to be flogging there sims everywhere you look to recruit.

Asda mobile was never designed to be a data network they are marketed for text and callers. They don't and never had data packages so the average asda mobile customer only want texts and calls cheap. May i suggest icardmobile which is cheaper than Asda and giffgaff. landlines 1p mobiles 5p and 4p texts. free voicemail and free on network calls well ten minutes between each. They use the same network as asda ie vodafone and highly likely your phone will not need unlocking as on same carrier.

For data depends what if any you use. what the guys at gg don't tell you is recently the free data has just been removed and now is charged per use unless you buy a ten pounds a month add on for there so called unlimited data which there are question marks over. Also as other people mentioned they have lately been having huge data issues where users can't even get on the internet as its become unreliable just been reading there forums.

For heavy data users i would suggest 3 mobile and eat all you can data plan on pay and go. at the moment is probably the better network for reliability. but none is ever reliable.

For small to medium data users vectone mobile gives free data each day for simply topping up which gg no longer does and vectone has a 1gb web add on for five pounds a month.

Economically Gg is best for inclusive calls texts and data as a package but other than that there is cheaper around.

all depends how you use your phone.

What people need to do especially in hard hit recession times is don't stick to loyalty is my motto if there is cheaper get it. the new ofcom rules make it easier to switch quickly now you can get your pac to leave any network within 2 hours and transfer to the new network the next day. Too many stick to loyalty. So icardmobile for calls and texts rates are the cheapest at the moment i have found if they suddenly increase just look around. i have been with them for three months and this has been the same rate but you do need to check each month the website of the offers. if they go up and someone else is cheap i will just get my pac and off i go.

Because GiffGaff allow Free Calls to Freephone Numbers and other payg suppliers dont normally its possible to use the likes

of http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via there 0808 Freephone Number to make cheaper calls .

Eg. Call to UK Landline 5p connection . 1p a minute
    Call to 0845 5p connection . 3p a minute.

Asda handsets i believe are not locked to the Asda network so while they are still cheaper i would suggest switching to Tesco Lite, GiffGaff, Ikea Family etc,

They use to be unlocked but they have been locked for a while now.

Just was checking something on my 02 account and noticed they have stuck up their prices too

Can't find the £10 sim only deal any more

There is a T-Mobile deal at the moment which might be better for you? 100 minutes, 100 text and a free bolt on to choose from including internet, landline talk etc, for £6 per month on a 30 day rolling SIM deal - http://www.chitterchatter.co.uk/simonly.php

Also Carphone Warhouse have a talk/text SIM deal for £5.11 a month which is good if you don't use any data.
    :dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

    June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.22

Does anyone happen to know which carrier Ikea Family uses/resells?

I'll be one of those (one of the many, I hope) asking Asda for a PAC on 31st May...
