I bought it for a recipe which didn't need it and now I don't know what to do with it.

    Any ideas?

Brown some chicken, about a pound for that amount of cream, add an onion, add a little chicken stock and a spoon of english mustard then add the cream and a measure of brandy and simmer on a very low heat for 30 mins.

Mash a couple of ripe bananas into it and make banana ice-cream.

I would use half for a quiche lorraine with some ham, and the rest for a crumble.

Suggested that I should move over here.

I over bought single cream for Christmas and have two tubs of 600mls (1200mls) left over in my fridge. Best before date is 28th December but both seem fine - not smelling 'off'.

Any ideas what I can use them for? Ideally something cooked that can be frozen for later use.

    Thanks.
  • Make a white wine/mushroom cream sauce or just freeze them to cook with at a later date.

Creamy soups freeze well. This thread has lots of ideas that should help:

how to use up single cream?

I'll add this thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.
