Hi There,
Ive got just over 1/2 carton of single cream (the rest was used for chicken Korma),can anyone give me any ideas as to how I can use the rest? I would rather use it for dinners/lunches rather than for puddings.
I was going to make a chicken & vegetable pie tomorrow for dinner, but, I was going to make the sauce from a can of condensed soup I have lurking at the back of the cupboard, could I use the cream instead?
Any suggestions welcome.

Hi jackie_w
You have just answered the question I was going to ask, I've just made beef stroganof & have half a tub of cream left, so I'll make chicken korma tomorrow, maybe you could make beef stroganof.

Hi Jackie,
You should be able to use the cream to make a creamy sauce for the chicken and vegetable pie. Normally if I have left over single cream I use it to make a sauce for pasta or carbonnara.
You might get some inspiration from this older thread:

I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the suggestions together.

Hi Hester,
That sounds great, but, I dont have any beef. Im trying to clear out my freezer before I make another trip to the supermarket. Could you give me your recipe for beef stroganoff?

Hi Pink,
Is there anything else I should put in with the cream to make the sauce?

You can add the cream to a lamb rogan josh (if you have lamb to use up).0

I like the carbonarra idea at the top of this thread. You can add anything from the fridge you've got lurking. I've usually got some mushrooms going a bit spongy, half an onion and a rasher or two of bacon. Fry it all up, add the cream and pour over the cooked pasta. You can top it wth some tomato and cheese and pop it under the grill for a pasta bake.
I try and avoid ending up with half tubs, especially if it can 'turn' quickly. There's two of us so I end up cooking double so all of a carton of something can be used, even if it means doubling up on the rest of the ingredients, then freezing the other half.
hope this helps... ooh it's tea time...:D

Beef Stroganof
Thin strips of beef, thinly sliced onion & mushroom, cook in a little oil, add teaspoon dijon mustard & half a tub of cream, serve with rice
