Yep Xcut, its the black one that is usually £18, marked at £13 on the shelf, but scans at £9. It was a few weeks back though - and people have been having trouble finding them0

Hi there. I know its not the cheapest shredder but it has done me proud for ages. I found that it has now been reduced by £15 to 24.99.
Whsmith shredder for 24.99
That may not sound cheap but it is seurity level 4 whereby the majority of the cheaper ones are level 3 or below.

Level 3 (Xcut 1/4" by 1/8" for confidential docs) should do most people here
By all means spend nearly three times as much if you have big secrets to keep!0 -
Shredders? What is wrong with a good old fashioned smokeless fuel open fire. And it dries your underwear.0

I used to have a manual shredder but it was cheap and not very efficient, as I have lots of secure documents to shred I invested in a robust cross shredder as advertised in my copy of Yours magazine, I bought it from Argos a Rexel V25 and I have to say it is superb, It comes complete with bin attached, shreds like confetti is permanently plugged in, its so handy and efficient I couldnt manage without it now. Well worth the cost 37.99 but I used my points to reduce the cost. I would recommend this to you all, as a bonus I can also fit more paper into my recycling bin now.. For the person who does not know the difference between shredders, cross cut shredders cut both ways instead of in strips which is not very secure as there are villians who can peice them together, and do!You live..You learn.:)0

The point is that the Asda cross cut was ONLY £9 and to be honest, other than 'real office shredders' I have never seen anything as well built. I do agree that once you have one you cant imagine living without it and they are WORTH £40, but when you can get one for £9
I also had a manual one for doing CC receipts - very handy little thing
Happy hunting

I might have to make that my MSE siggy!0 -
I'm a little frustrated. All I want is a shredder that lasts. I bought a Paper Monster and it now is not working after only a year.
I'd like one that lasts and has a big waste capacity and ideally can shredd more than 5/6 sheets at a time. I really don't think I could rely on one that costs £20 but I don't really want to spend more than £40/50
Any ideas?Moneysaving since 2004!0 -
In my experience THEY DONT LAST - so spend the minimum and replace it if it breaks. Having said that I have high hopes for the ASDA one - it really is solid.0
