Dear All, I just want to let you know that I recently purchased a Cross Cut Shredder from W H Smith: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/WHS/Go.asp?isbn=30123458&DB=320 for £24.99. The machine is splendid and good quality as well as security Level 4. I would strongly recommend this unit to anyone thinking of purchasing a cross cutter shredder. Remember this "Cheapness always comes the dearest". It is better to spend a little extra money for the quality.

If you are going to compost the shredded paper (as we do) then it doesn't matter about having a cross cut. Who's going to look in your compost bin? And after a few weeks they are well and truly gone.

Don't remember it being marked as a special price though, but there weren't many there.

Bought a cross-cut shredder from Woolies in Plymouth yesterday (half price) - £14.99. We were there for a few days on the 'Tennertastic' Travelodge offer. Great savings in both cases.

Bought a cross-cut one from woolworths today for £11.99 (down from £16.99). Not sure how it compares to others (it's a level 3 cross cut) but it's done a good job of my old bank statements.
