I've been looking for a reasonably priced cross cut shredder for a month or two now. Last week I checked out some in Rymans and they all had quoted figures for On/Off times e.g. 2 mins On, 20 mins Off. The more expensive ones had longer on times and shorter off times e.g. 2 on/5 off
I've never seen these figures quoted before (unless I missed something in this thread!) and it concerned me that the cheaper ones will burn out if you run them for too long without cooling periods. Has anyone else bought a cross cut shredder that quoted these times, and what's the best price/performance cross cut shredder based on On/Off times?0 -

The boy on the checkout warned me about burnout times as I was buying as he said they get loads back. He said don't run continuously for more than 2 mins and leave for 5 on any shredder under £50

I'm afraid you have to have a Makro card (it's a trade card supposedly only for business users but easy to get one if you have a friend with their own business or you work for the right type of company). They don't do mail order.0
