I can't see that they'll have the time or the inclination to argue it, they must have so many claims coming in atm

I've just had my list of charges through today (earlier than 14th May which they quoted - well done Woolwich) and can't believe the amount of charges I have paid - £7,146.51 for one account and £880.18 for another. How did I manage to get on with day to day living having lost that amount of money in charges??? Frightening!! Just sent off the letters requesting the amounts back from Woolwich, 14 days to wait - not religious but very tempted to start praying!!!

Taking Woolwich to court for about £1000 - but they have written back and passed my details over to barclays customer service.

Who do I put down on the court forms?

    Jo
  • Hi I am currently recliaming my charges from the Woolwich and have got to the stage where I take them to court. They say that they will respond by the 29th May 2007. My question is: Do I carry on even though I cannot really afford the £120.00 fee to go via MCOL??? Can I claim the cost of this back if they decided to settle before it all goes through?? Or do I lose the £120?? Sorry if this has been gone over already

  • Hi, I have done the first 3 steps and are wondering about the woolwich now all the accounts have been transfferd over to Barclays.

I am due to recive a letter by the 15th may of their decision on if they are going to refund me. They took just over £9000 in six years from me.

Now Woolwich dont really excist anymore do i expect a reply by the 15th may??? The last letter said i should expect a reply by then. The woolwich call centre is also closed now.

If they dont reply i am going to take them to court but who do i take to court.

The thing is i have been waiting since the first letter was written to them on the 30th march and kinda think i have been shafted. Anyone got any thoughts on what i should now be doing.

Anyone else going though this with them at the moment.

    Thank You

I sent my 14 day letter on the 5th May and this morning received a reply - it's one of those 'sorry to hear you're dissatisifed with us' letters. Thing is it states that they 'aim to resolve my complaint' by the 8th June.
I didn't send a complaint I sent a 14 day demand for my money back.
Is this normal with the Woolwich?

This is exactly what happened to me. I sent the second letter and there was no response, but two days after I filed with MCOL, they refunded all the charges, but not the interest. Just stick to your timescales, not theirs, and you will get ur money back.

    Luck

I sent my 1st request letters on Wednesday and telephoned them today to confirm they had received them. Was told by the woman I would get a response by 28th June. I intend to stick to the 14 day limit, 2nd letter, further 14 days as everybody says "you set the time limit, not the bank!" Hoping they refund in full like they did with you Sarah!!
