That cake is very yummy. My mum use to make it. She now just makes chocolate cake.

I think she just excludes the evaporated milk.

Misterholic, amid his preparations for the imminent carpet fitter, dug out my old copy ... and it was edition 34. It's still all in Farenheit and a lot like the one my mom used to own. There's a girl on the front with a Be-Ro sash and a 1970s pageboy hairstyle. I've sent off my cheque for 99p and will let you know if there's much difference between ed 34 and the one they send ... if they send one ...

It's been put to work twice already. It's like having a magician on the kitchen work top. Put one thing in and hey presto something else comes out :)

I shop in Tesco and have never seen a vanilla pod for sale. Where can you get them from?

I think you'll find that's for a single pod, but they are very versatile. Stick the pod in a jar of caster sugar and you get instant vanilla sugar, plus you can use the seeds (most impotent part) and retain the pod in the sugar :)

And what else do we use them for? ( :shhh: Do you think we should start a new thread? Or is there one out there already?)
