Bero cook book

I mentioned a week or two ago that I'd sent away for a new Be-Ro Recipe book using the address and the price quoted in the back of my old and tattered but much loved copy.

Someone else kindly pointed out that they have a website and that you could get the book from there, priced at £1.50 Great :)

Well it seems that Be-Ro still honour their old offers and still maintain the postal address for orders.

So if you'd like the book for just £0.99 send a cheque or postal order payable to "Be-Ro Recipe Book" and send to:-

Be-Ro Recipe Book, RHM Foods Ltd,
Unit 14, Stafford Close,
Fairwood Industrial Park,
Ashford,
Kent TN23 2WY

Edit: The latest book is available for £1.50 from the address given on Be-Ro web site.

The page with details is here:-

Good grief I haven't read it yet!! I got straight on line to tell you all about it. :)

Hang on... this is the 40th Edition... and...

    ...

    ..presentations different from my 39th...

Same size, same number of pages, but fewer recipes listed in the index at the back (?)

They never change a great deal from one book to another so I'd say it's a 50/50 thing if you want to upgrade (mine's been repaired so many times there's more repair than book)...

..but for anyone buying this highly recommended (by me :) ) book for the first time - this is a good deal.

It's my very mostest bestest most usefullest yummiest cook book. It has all the basic baking and pastries recipes in it, handy temperature guide, weight conversions... and 85 pages full of waistline expanding goodies. :)

    I can't recommended it enough - and for a quid it's a real bargain.

    I wouldn't be without it. Honest :)

I have a very, very (much loved and much repaired) old copy that belonged to my Grandma. It cost about 1s 6d. Do you think they'd still honour that one :rotfl:

  • Yes, go on, I'll send for another, I'm still on the 38 ed copy but it's a bit thick with greasy gunk so not too aesthetically pleasing

I keep meaning to ask my Mum if she's still got hers. It used to have pride of place next to the WI cook book

I sent off for two and got the cheque back saying that there was something wrong with the cheque. looked at it could not see what was wrong.

Checked details on line. Looked at the cheque again a few days later. And I had only put the date down as 2004. oops :o

Going to have to write a new cheque and try again.

A friends mum used to make it when we were kids, and then my nan used to make them for me to bring for my workmates in london!
