At the weekend I made Be-Ro's Viennese Fingers and their Strawberry Muffins (except I only had raspberry jam but the same recipe, different flavour), and brought the results into work today. Lots of ohhing and ahhing, both were an absolute success. I must admit it was hard work piping the viennese fingers - and I actually gave up and threw quite a bit of the mixture away. However the baked result was so good I am definitely going to make this one again. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the piping bit easier?

I've made the Milk Chocolate cake as well, and that too went down v.v.swiftly indeed.

This little book is a treasure. Thanks Squeaky for drawing my attention to it.

Just made the milk chocolate cake for my sin-in laws 40th at the weekend. I have been making these for Special and not so special occasions for something like 40 years.Using the same old tatty book my MIL passed on to me all those years ago.I cover the cake with Cadbury's chocolate melted with a little butter added first. For birthdays I double the recipe, make 3 tiers and save one for guess who? Decorate it with Smarties or Buttons ( this one will have the 40 on "spelt out" in Smarties)

Even those dieting wolf it down and it very swiftly disappears! Found a candle in Sainsbury's today that plays happy birthday so was well chuffed.

Must send off for 3 copies of the Be-ro book for the "kids" so that they can keep up the tradition when I've gone!! Thanks for the info on how to get them, a nice little extra for their christmas stocking !

I'm thinking of buying the be-ro recipie book and was wondering what sort of recipies are in the book so that i will be buying something that i will use. I have a few recipie books at the moment and i only use a couple of recipies from each one. Can one of you kind fellows post a list of some of the tried and tested recipies that you use.
    Thanks all, Sarah1

All pastries, short rough puff choux...

    basic tarts and flans...

    What AM I saying????

Whizz yourself back up to the first post in the thread and where I've added the Be-Ro website go there and then click on recipes (wherever it is - on the left, I think) and the entire contents of the book are there for you to browse at your liesure :)

I just got mine - for a 99p cheque (thanks, Squeaks!). Took a while getting here, but it's much, much nicer than the old one. Should I keep the old one for posterity?

Oh maybe mine will be here soon! I sent off for it at the same time as Spend so fingers crossed. :) I shall have to hide it as I already have far too many cookbooks in oh's opinion

It doesn't take a lot of room! And, IMHO, it's definitely the best.

I had quite a collection of old Bero books, mostly very scruffy because I'd used them a lot, but one was in good condition so I sold it on Ebay for £4.
