    How many do you know?
I'm very pleased to say I haven't even met one.

    Then consider yourself fortunate.

Edit: Just wondering how you would know? They dont come with labels on their foreheads. How many families have been shocked to the core to discover their relative or evenn a friend they thought they knew well, has been involved in anything like this.

  • ime just going too point something out here on this page . local too me there was aN "OLD MAN" that everyone said was harmless ; he reguarly filmed kids at a play ground both on video and by his mobile phone my boys included . It wasnt untill one parent reported him too the police that it was found that he was a child sex offender and that he was emailimg the pictures of our children here there and every where with statements like 2 very relaxed area come and see for yourself . " children often left unsupervised " was another comment that he made too other peverts across the country .you can NEVER EVER just presume that the old guy taking film of your kids is just that ; i wish i had challenged the "old guy " that was doing this at my local park ; now it has clearly changed my attitude ; personally i will report ANYONE who is taking pictures or fling my children without my permission as a direct result ; that way my children are safe even if you think i am a bit ott

You can never just assume that if there IS a camera, that it's operated by an 'old man,' or that it's even pointed AT the children.

There's lots of CCTV at my local park... I dread to think what the security people are doing in their secret pervert booth.

People walk past that park hundreds of times a day with cameras out. They're in their mobile phones and to be honest - they could film much more illicitly using one of those pretending to be sending a text message... are you going to start a mummy hysteria about everyone having a camera phone too?

The poor man is having to live his life behind bars because of footballs belting off his windows - I'm willing to bet there's been anti-social behaviour on an evening (or do you monitor the park 24-7... in which case we can all call you the same thing you're accusing this man of because it would be equally weird) and the cameras have probably been put there BY the authorities to catch whoever in the act. Perhaps he's been burgled, and they've come in from the open park area and he's just bloody well scared within his own home... perhaps it's a dummy camera for a deterrent - we've got a few people around here have that sort trained on their gardens and doors to deter garden thieves - OMG THERE MIGHT BE A CHILD WALKING ALONG THE STREET - FIRE UP THE BURNING TORCHES!!!

I get bloody sick and tired of people expecting everyone to bow down to the product of their god damn ovaries and them having a carte blanche to insult and accuse random members of the public (and it's a bloody VILE accusation and I hope to god the poor guy never hears you calling him those things as it would really wreck any decent person to be called that) for daring to do things like eat their sandwiches in the carpark of a local park (quite a common place for lots of travelling workmen to stop off around here) or sit on a bench on a sunny afternoon watching the world go by - how dare these vile people use the public spaces too, without a child to justify it - they must be ***ophiles too!

You take your child to a PUBLIC place... you run the shocking risk of running into other members of the general PUBLIC. I'd be much less worried about a camera openly pointing onto the parkland than what might be going on behind other net curtains - but never let logic get in the way of a good oestrogen-fuelled witchhunt. Or do you just expect the rest of the world to hide away indoors, never even daring to look out of their windows for fear of being the next target for the petty hate mob?

In fact - when I was cleaning out the garden shed last weekend I found a set of burning garden torches and a pitchfork - want me to post them to you ready for your full-blown assault when you make some poor old man's life a living hell? You've been given a number of constructive excuses for avenues to approach to get it looked at properly - but nope, drumming up internet rumour and gossip is so much better. I actually hope for your sake that he IS a perv to be honest - because I wouldn't want the damage you will be doing if he IS innocent on your conscience.

Lets face it...if you were a perv, you'd do a better job than sticking the lens out the window!!!!!!!!!!!

people seem to think as hes filming a park from his property it HAS to be innocent where as if he was hiding in the bushes filming im sure there would have been a different response. so IF he was a perv then by doing this he is less likely to get caught IF he was actually doing anything wrong

Are you familiar with the arguement for witch burning, and ducking stools?
  • the old guy at my local park was sitting on a bench less than 50m from the kids
