What bags are you talking about?
The free plastic ones, the re-usable 10p plastic ones or your own bags?
I'd like the OP to answer this so we can understand the depth of this issue.
I'd also like to know if the woman the OP spoke to was on the Customer Services desk.
I suspect not as she says 'she just walked away'.
Maybe 'this woman' didn't have a clue what the OP was talking about.
Maybe she advised the OP to ask at Customer Services but the OP didn't hear her.0 -
The trouble is, too many people are far too lazy when it comes to confronting rudeness in supermarkets and this is shown by the trend that it is becoming more commonplace. If this standard of service is not addressed, it is just going to gt a lot worse.
I do agree, but of course it does work both ways - there are people who are rude to the shop staff and totally ignorant of their own statutary rights ( i.e. demand things they are not entitled to or be unrealistic )
( Not that this is the case here )
I tend to agree with the OP - they should have been dealt with in a better manner.- The original shop staff should have advised that goods would be restocked if left overnight. (or "retrained" if this was not know)
- When they returned, the shop staff should have arranged for someone to deal with the OP and replaced the bags (Assuming they were "Bags for Life", etc).
And it is very easy to complete a shop without realising that you have left your wallet / purse at home (been there, done that - learnt my lesson to ALWAYS check BEFORE shopping :rotfl:)“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

OP asked where her bags were, I would have thought that was a bit of a clue. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

But then that is no reason for shop staff to be rude to customers, it just exacerbates the problem.I tend to agree with the OP - they should have been dealt with in a better manner.- The original shop staff should have advised that goods would be restocked if left overnight. Well YOU might think so, but (imho) the OP isn't that great at explaining things so maybe 'this woman' that the OP asked had the same problem as me!I was shopping there the other day and after having all the stuff checked out at the self service check out, i realised i didn't have my purse with me. i told the attendant what to do
Er! SHE told the attendant what to do? I think she probavbly means she ASKED what to do.
as it was the first time it ever happended to me. she said i could come back later but as i didn't live locally, i said i would rather pick it up the next day and she said it was fine.
came back the next day, asked someone - Asked 'someone'? Asked who? Asked someone who might know or just the first person she saw? and this woman told me that they don't keep them overnight, they would have been put back on the shelf or something. Or Something?
didn't mind that too much as i didn't pay for the items, but i used my own bags and left that with them as well, i asked the woman where my bags are, she said she couldn't find them Couldn't find them? Did she go off looking for them? and just walked away What sort of bags were they (again)? If they were her own bags or the 10p re-usabel ones, why didn't the OP ask for reimbursement or replacement bags at the time?... first was annoyed at the attitude of the woman and second, they threw my bags out... they should have just told me earlier then i would have taken my bags with me, but obviously made a mistake in trusting them... now i lost my bags and being treated rudely0 -

None of that "nitpicking" has much relevance, except to point out your pedantry (it would be wise to think before you point out others poor grammar or spelling, it tends to come back and bite you on the rear). It was clear to everybody else what the OP was implying. She asked a staff member where her bags were, that staff member replied that she couldn't find them and then walked off.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

It's not nit-picking, I said (imho) the OP didn't exactly explain herself very well.
Where did I point out the OP's poor grammar or spelling?
If you mean THIS:i told the attendant what to do
Er! SHE told the attendant what to do? I think she probably means she ASKED what to do.
that has nothing to do with grammar or spelling.
It's just another example of the OP not explaining things too well (again imho).
My point (which seems to have gone totally over your head) is that if she didn't complain clearly and to the right person in the store, there's no wonder she didn't get any joy.
THAT'S why I asked the questions here:I'd also like to know if the woman the OP spoke to was on the Customer Services desk.
I suspect not as she says 'she just walked away'.
Maybe 'this woman' didn't have a clue what the OP was talking about.

It's all very well you jumping in to empathise with the OP and say 'There, there, you poor love' but personally I like to know the full story before deciding whether the OP has been rudely treated.
I don't automatically believe everything that is posted on here.0 -

What the same woman as the one that served her the day before, never mind the fact that if it is a superstore they will get thousend of customers a day and never mind the fact that there are probably hundreds of employees.
Dead easy that! The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

Blimey ! Talk about making mountains out of molehills ! I'm all for complaining but this is a bit much, if they threw her bags away (in the absence of an answer from the OP) would you not assume they were plastic bags ? I would, forget about it and move on !0

What relevance has that got? Why would it matter, if it was the same woman? If it was or wasn't, how would that change the fact that whoever it was was rude to the OP?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
