those are normal to low BS readings which is excellent which should mean you have good insulin control, however its not possible to tell how much insulin the body is using to keep the readings like that, all i can surmise is that if the figures get high then your going to be making a lot more insulin, however in reality its far more complicated than this but since its the only method we can use to check blood sugars its probably a reasonable rule of thumb.

Eric I found that really interesting. To look at me you'd think I was very likely to be diabetic, 5'2' 125 kilos yet at the GP I'm told I'm my (fasting) BS is fine, still I can sleep for hours in the day and night.
I'm more and more convinced low carbs/paleo is the way to go but am struggling starting what with being veggie (and have been for 40 years) starting to eat meat is difficult.
Funny because all the official advice I trusted for years was that it wasn't the pasta that made you fat but the cheese on top - yet my mother, in the 60's, would cut down on bread and potatoes when she wanted to lose weight.

if you can work it into your cal allowance then its not a problem, sat fats are good for you so there not an issue

if your eating it with a tonne of fruit it could be carb craving related

and sorry for ignoring you it was 5am :p

It is eaten with a tonne of fruit as SW allows that, not good?

I am sure its possible to get enough protein and stay veggie if your creative, and there are plenty especially if you can eat eggs and dairy, it does get harder if you are vegan

The myprotein impact whey that I use is a very high source of protein and veggie, and i also snack on these which are high protein

fruit can be a bit dodgy, depending on the type some are very high carb and some are very high GI, you could eat many thousands of cals of fruit a day, especially if your still carb craving and your body subconsciously switches you to fruit

I would try to avoid anything high on this list

    http://www.southbeach-diet.info/low-carb-fruit.php

    or medium on this list

    http://www.the-gi-diet.org/lowgifoods/

In the natural world we would not eat tonnes of fruit, it would be seasonal and each type would only be available for short periods and there would be competition for it with other animals. We certainly would not be gorging on it 365 days a year.

Then there's the way that the body processes fructose, its an unusual sugar in that its only metabolised in the liver and its treated in a similar way to alcohol (ie its like a poison), a high fructose diet increases the chance of metabolic syndrome a lot.

For this reason I do not eat a large amount of fruit and I avoid sucrose. If I am going to eat sugar (say carb loading before exercise) I would eat glucose or dextrose.

As a rule of thumb I would say of your 5 a day go for 4 plant and 1 fruit.

If your feeling very bored this is interesting

Okay thanks Eric Pisch - so I'll assume FS will have seen my earlier post to do this challenge and post any weight loss in time for this chart to record it.
