  • The soup looks lovely, thanks Victory! Eric, What is in it that works against your body? Maybe I could leave that bit out?

Also, can I put natural honey or agave in my yogurt or does that defeat the purpose?

Do you just buy cold meats from the deli? Do you have them with anything?

Jess444 - do you have dressing with your salad? What sorts of things would you put in a salad?

In case anyone hadn't noticed, I HATE lunch - I never know what to eat for it, and always get myself into a tizz. I also hate my job so it is tempting to use lunch to 'treat' myself...

I prefer the time tbh. I can't count the distance with Insanity so was leaving it out despite working out everyday :D

Distance is a Bit unfair on those who do pilates and yoga or swimming which can be as tough as running! Studio classes are tough too!

Anyway 1.45hr cycling for me today, time trial practise and it was a killer I need new legs!

This website says it is fab for diabetics and my diabetic nurse loves the idea that I eat it nearly every lunch time very good for you she keeps saying:D

its not just low GI but total carb load thats important thou and theres a lot of other carby stuff in the ingrediant list

processing (ie blending) also increases the GI of food as its easier to absorb

on a personal note if i was diagnosed type II i would switch to atkins hardcore style, remove the need for medication

the science is pretty simple, elevated insulin levels cause fat storage, prevent fat burning and cause sugar cravings

the best way to avoid this is to reduce your sugar (carb intake) down to under 100g a day and to make it a slow release sugar (low GI)

primal / paleo diets (eat only natural food) are the easiest ways to do this

i dont think of them as treats, i think of them as punishments

looks very much like one of those ultra dangerous VLCD diets ...

and this is a bit of a give way

"The Key to loosing weight is to drink water. Around 2 litres (4 Pints) a day. This will help you feel fuller, beat cravings, and burn fat. "

So many trials have shown that drinking does not stop hunger, or beat cravings (low GI does that) or burn fat ...
