dropped my carb intake to below 80g a day 2 weeks ago and i have lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks at this stage with only 24.6 lbs to go , just goes to show how carbs kibosh fat burning ...

15.4lbs till i have lost 50% and become half the man i was :)

oh and visceral fat is down another point to 15 :D

Love the scientific approach you have to your food intake, if I had half a brain I could do that too! Sadly I am not gifted in the brain deopartment! Well done you are quite amazing.

It is almost a conspiracy, the number of days I have been offered free food since I have been on a diet is amazing. Peoples birthdays, leaving or changing jobs, business trips and even church groups giving free barbecue food on the high street.

    Anyway dodged them all :D:D:D

Fred -4lbs for me this week

Wish to congratulations to Eric for his achievement, something I could never do (you lost more than weight than I started with), well done!! :T:T:T and good job with all the encouragement you are giving in this thread.

STS for me this week. But that's all right. I weighed 72.4 kg this time last week, but then bounced back up again to 72.8 kg a few days ago. That's how it goes.

82.4 kg this morning, that's -0,4kg from las week I think... Don't know how it happened but quite happy with it... I have my ups and downs all the time, can't really find time to exercise as much as I'd like to, even for my sit ups lately as everything is messed up at work atm and I hardly have any time... I hope the mad times will end in September(new flat, new job, holidays?) and I can start properly and for good... :o
I am not that bad food wise(protein shake most mornings, soup+some protein(meat) for lunch and a smoothie for dinner plus some snacks like slices of ham, yoghurt, coffee, nuts, etc) but I'd like to exercise more... And resist the chocolate cravings I still have sometimes... :o however not that often now... :)

What is this Dukan Diet I'm hearing so much about? The Daily Mail says high-protein, low-fat eating plan. Atkins was high-protein, wasn't it? So what's the difference?

I looked it up on Amazon.

It has been worked out by a French doctor who - he says - has a lot of experience in helping people to lose weight. It's in 4 stages. The first stage, what he calls the 'Attack phase' is protein only, not just high protein. But that only lasts for 7 days. This is what the DM was publicising so much over the past few days - lose 7 pounds in 7 days for your holiday, lasses jumping around in bikinis etc.

It also involves walking for a minimum of 20 minutes a day - that's a prescription, he says, not a recommendation. Also drinking 2L water. The fibre would come from oat bran, 2-3 tablespoons a day, either sprinkled on low-fat yogurt or made into pancakes with an egg and some sweetener.

So, for the first 7 days, not low-carb but NO carb. Protein only.
