Thanks for the additional comments/link regarding cycling. The bike seemed o.k. although I got soaked. Will try to use it again tomorrow as only two days before Wednesday weigh-in again.

Yes, the weather was rubbish yesterday, but nevertheless, thousands of riders passed through our town continuously all day, on the London - Southend bike ride for charity, so obviously it did not put many of them off!

DH used to ride a bike and he says 'once you're wet you can't get any wetter, you just keep going and look forward to a hot shower when you've finished'.

Slightly different if you are doing an organised event, there is safety in numbers on the road. A few years ago I suffered serious injuries when a woman claimed she could not see me in rain whilst pulling out (forwards) from her drive. this despite high viz, lights etc etc.

Now I have got a little boy to think about I don't take the risk, nothing is worth my lovely face smacking into the road at 28mph again! I want to be able to cycle for years to come! That's why I bought the turbo trainer.

If that makes me a fair weather rider sobeit!
  • I lost 2.4lbs this week.

I really need to get my head back in the game. This week I have eaten out at Pizza Express, I had a hot dog and fries at Ikea, I had home made battered fish with chips (TWICE), I had a homemade burger with homemade wedges and onion rings, I had a chip butty for my lunch yesterday... Kind of feels like I'm just not taking this that seriously. I was off work last week though, so I suppose I could make an excuse out of that.

The fact that I still lost weight this week is down to doing an hour on my exercise bike for 5 days, and not eating HUGE amounts - yes, it was all pretty unhealthy, but I didn't stuff my face. I guess that's an improvement?

Anyway, I really need to start doing this properly again, I'm just struggling to find the motivation. Not helped by the fact that my depression and anxiety is pretty bad at the moment, but I need to do this.

Hope everyone is getting on ok :)

Bad weather day where I am located too so it is indoor cycling for me i.e. sat here doing odd jobs whilst pedalling. No idea yet about any weight loss but my initial progress seems to be slipping away?
