Price of a bag of coal?

What a rip off! I can get a tonne of anthracite for £200.0

I bought some Stoveheat from the local CPL centre for £8.86 per 25KG bag last week.
Doesn't seem to burn as hot as the stuff the local coal man supplies. Also it seems to leave a lot more ash too. Full pan of ash after just one evening/night compared to half a pan with the stuff from the coal man.
This is with a Parkray room heater.0 -

I think that was a place out in Tyrone that was being quoted. Even cheaper than my dealer in Belfast.0

When I had a large open fireplace. It was always cheaper to get a tipper load of wood delivered for the winter for approx £50. No good for small fireplaces though, or if you haven't got space for all that wood!0

The homefire ovals are £22.82 for 50kg delivered from Coals2u. OK thats not cheap but having experimented a bit I am starting to think that you get what you pay for - especially in our multi-fuel stove. Time will tell but so far I am using less coal per day and getting better heat than I was with the cheaper stuff.
As I said the ovals are still glowing after being in the stove for 12 hours overnight which is pretty good I think.0
