i started yesterday. I had bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes for beakfast, toasted teacake and butter for lunch, for tea baked beans on toast (nimble bread) and a small low fat yogurt and a banana. That was all day.
So far today bowl of rice krispies and a choc biscuit, toasted tea cake with butter. Use semi skimmed milk.
Sorry I don't want to pick on you personally but this is NOT a healthy or sustainable way to eat/ loose weight.
All high GI simple carbs, only2 of your 5 a day, very little protein.
I've had mini shredded wheat with ss milk for breakfast, an apple mid morning, lucnh was 2 small soft tortillas with slow cooked beans and pork, lettuce, a tiny bit of cheese, low fat yoghurt and loads of lettuce with fresh tom salsa. Dinner will be a rissotto made with lots fo green veg and maybe some lean hamPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I'm a retired Slimming World Consultant and I will give you an idea of what I lost my weight on -
Breakfast - bacon, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms.
Lunch - home-made vegetable soup followed by yoghurt and fruit.
Dinner - jacket potato, chicken & masses of veg.
Supper - hot chocolate drink with a couple of biscuits.
I honestly have to say that what you are eating is not enough and you will struggle to lose weight effectively. You aren't having enough fruit/veg and it's all a bit 'samey' if you know what I mean.

Over many years I've done every diet in the book and found the only one that really works is one where you're told at the beginning "this is not a diet, it's simply healthy eating". Following this rule, for the people who say "as soon as I stopped the weight came back", well of course it would. Healthy eating is for ever, not just a few weeks!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
red devil, poor you having your efforts to cut down leapt on!

It's only because everyone wants to spare you the struggle we can see you embarking upon.
I think the "eat less, move more" saying can sometimes be unhelpful in that people think they can just eat less of what they normally eat to lose weight, whereas the most effective way is to eat MORE of the good stuff.
Slimming World and Weightwatchers are not the only way of losing weight, but they do emphasise a varied and healthy diet so it may help to go along to a few meetings or check out their forums for meal ideas. Or get a diet sheet from your GP perhaps, or book an appointment with a nutritionist.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
It's not my weight I'm fed up of (I'm 5'2" and I'm quite light
) but the fact that I have a flabby stomach and no matter what I do, I can't shift the extra bit of weight there.
I also have M.E so get exhausted really easily.
I know I shouldn't complain as there are people out there who struggle with their weight on a day to day basis and those who have lost so much weight that a little bit of tummy fat doesn't worry them but I have an ED so I think it's a personal thing.
Gosh, I sound like a right whinger. I'm sorry.

hi guys
I am pretty much the same as you all i have to loose weight for medical reasons i am 13 1/2 stone and a size 18
i am on lots of medication and the side effects are weight gain so i am fighting a losing battle but i am trying.
I gave up smoking just over 2 years ago and i did put on some weight then which i suppose is to be expected, i dont drink, i swim once a week and i walk a couple of times a week (around 3 miles).
I am only allowed to do light exercise so the wii fit is out of the question at the moment
i dont seem to be getting anywhere even though i am trying and it is so frustrating when you are getting nowhere...... here is what i have eaten today...
ready brek for breakfast with semi skimmed milk and a sprinkling of sugar
lunch was salmon sandwich on brown bread a banana and a packet of square crisps
tea was lamb with leeks carrots and mashed potato
then this evening i snacked on kiwi, banana and and apple as i was peckish
i drink water every day and i dont have sugar in tea/coffee
if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated
cheers xgave up smoking 07/01/09 :j:j:j0 -

It's great that you're cutting down and changing your diet, just be careful not to cut down too much, hence low GI food where you can still eat a good amount. It would be horrible to put all of this effort in and then still cling onto the weight because your body things you are starving. Your metabolism would just slow down completely in a desperate bid to keep you "healthy".
Good luck anyway

Sounds a bit better today
Remember to have your evening meal bring you up to at least 1200 cals for the day or it will really slow your weightloss.
It's good you're cutting down on the bread/biscuits, but I hope you can see that the diet you previously put up almost entirely consisted of bread and refined carbs - so even if you were eating less of them, they were still the majority of your diet.
I hope you find your new way of eating satisfying. If not, and hunger sparks off a binge, do ask for advice from people here or on other diet forums. Major thing on a diet is to not feel massively hungry or it will fail as you will snap and have an eating splurge.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
