No mention of any protein in recent posts! How about a boiled egg with wholemeal toast for breakfast? I believe you need some protein at every meal. Have we become so brain-washed by the 'breakfast cereals' industry that we think ReadyBrek, Shreddies, porridge etc are all that breakfast consists of? And, soup, apple and banana for lunch. Again, no protein - what's wrong with a bit of cheese or a slice of ham? I would completely agree with cutting out biscuits, cakes, sweets and all the rest, but include some protein for tissue growth and repair. Also protein keeps you feeling fuller for longer.
We've just had a boiled egg, 1.5 slices of wholemeal toast with a teaspoonful of marmalade. I'm going for my half-hour one-to-one swimming lesson before lunch.
About gentle exercise only. I've tried aqua-aerobics and, because the water supports you and yet provides resistance, I find I can do an hour of it but I could not do even the gentlest of ordinary aerobics unless I sit down every 5 minutes!Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

A few years ago i was 13 stone and went on the slimfast diet and cut out alot of fatty foods too. I lost 2 stone and felt much better. I stuck with the diet for quite a while but as soon as i stopped it i started putting the weight back on and relaxing my eating?
I know seem to be getting on for 14stone. I feel awful about it. My bras have started to get tight and i know i must do something. I have only had them a few months. I dont know how to keep my weight at a good level. Its such a nuisance going up and down in weight. Bras change and clothes fit then dont. I seem to be more now than when i started my diet.
Anyone else find it a constant battle and anyone got any tips! I also feel abit embarrassed as i had lots of compliments when i lost weight and i think what are people thinking now. I am 5ft 8 by the way.
You sound exactly like me!!! I lost 5 stone, had breat surgery in March 09, and felt amazing. From then on in the weights crept back on and i feel awful. I very rarely leave home now.0 -

Hundred percent agree. I don't eat meat (but do eat fish occasionally) but still manage to eat a lot of protein in the form of eggs, quinoa, lentils, chickpeas, tofu etc. If you are a meat eater it is even easier to make helathy protein addition (turkey is pretty low fat, fish is very good).
Red Devil, do you mind us going on about your diet? I'm just totally intrigued and wondering what sort of plan you generally have for healthy eating. Also wondering if you are not feeling confident about cooking or new foods etc? I'm sure lots of people here or on the oldstyle forum would love to help if so.

I will be having ham sandwich for lunch tomorrow and usually have scrambled egg on toast for breakfast on Sundays. Rest of the week its porridge or cereal.:footie:0 -
I've been having 2 slices of WW malted bread, toasted with WW jam on for breakfast and a large glass of water. That will last me till lunch at about 1pm.
For lunch I've been having WW soup and a piece of fruit and for tea I've been having things like jacket spud with beans and tuna, salad, last night I had spag bol, but just a bowl of it rather than a heaped plate and NO garlic bread (boo hoo! lol).
I really honestly haven't been hungry at all, and normally, I'll slacken on day 2 or 3 because I'll really crave something, but this week, nothing!
I've drank so much water I'm peeing all the time (great for the skin tho!) and I'm not eating after 7pm. That's a strict rule because I was such a cow for late night snacking!
I'll still be having my Friday night treat of a bottle of rose and I'm not going to have a treat day as such, just have one meal off a week, so on Sunday I'll have a roast with all the trimmings, just not as much as I normally have.
I walked 6 miles yesterday pushing the baby in his buggy ~ my legs were throbbing like anything last night but this morning they were fine.
We're going away in August and I want to take the baby swimming ~ no chance me the way I look now, so I want to lose about 3 stone at least!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
hello!
Well yesterday was a good day for me!
I had:
Breakfast - shape yog and an apple (i can't eat a lot in the mornings or I feel sick for some reason!)
Lunch - ham salad in a pitta, go ahead things
Dinner - sea food grattin type thing. Low on the gratin high on the seafood
Snack - a bottle of beer
Still too many carbs and too little veg but I try to keep protein up. I snack on cold meat if I have it in so that helps. I also went for a 3 mile run. Hurrah!
i'm on a stag do this weekend so it's going to be difficult (oh yes I am a girl btw!). Lots of bad places to eat that only do burgers etc but I will try and have less of the carbs and more of the meat so if the only options are fried chicken, burgers etc then I will not eat chips and just have the meat from the burger. Lots of beer is unavoidable - nope scratch that - necessary!House saving Targets:

Exactly my motivation tooIt's amazing how much you can eat on WW and lose (I hear the same of SW). My downfall though is alcohol - if I have a drink in the week it messes everything up and I don't lose. My personal chink in the armour!
Last week I didn't drink but ate masses and lost 5lb.I will be having ham sandwich for lunch tomorrow and usually have scrambled egg on toast for breakfast on Sundays. Rest of the week its porridge or cereal.
Still very bread-based and no sign of veg red devil. How about you post up a meal plan for the next few days to get some accurate feedback? I'll give you my menu for today as well to give you an idea of a healthy balance between protein, carbs and veg (and treats!) - this is what I eat to lose weight:
Breakfast:
Day 1: banana, mushroom omelette, butternut squash chips
Day 2: Porridge, grapes
Day 3: 2 quorn sausages, one fried egg (in frylight), small slice toast. Banana.
Lunch:
Day 1: prawn noodle salad, options hot choc, grapes
Day 2: cod in batter, salad with low fat dressing, peas
Day 3: veggie chilli with half fat creme fraiche, tinned pineapple(in own juice)
Dinner:
Day 1: baked salmon fillet with hollandaise, lots of veg
Day 2: quorn chicken fajita with savoury rice and salad
Day 3: veggie shepherds pie and peas
I also have a chocolate treat every day as it makes me happy lol.
Does this sort of thing appeal red devil or does it look complicated or yucky to you? When I manage to eat consistently like this every week I do lose weight and I know I'm getting pretty good nutrition too which frankly I don't think you are from what you posted.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

no i dont mind. Its early days. Everyday is going to be different what i eat. I will post any weight i lose. I am going away next week though so wont be able too. I do eat meat btw and i will be eating alot of fruit and low fat yogurts. Cutting down on the rubbish.
Still like butter but have changed to half fat.:footie:0 -

Try to suss out other brands aside from WW which have equal nutritional value (I'm not going to say healthy cos I honestly don't believe half their products are that healthy!). What's so WW about the jam? Is it reduced sugar? In that case, buy a supermarket own brand. WW bread? It's just got more air in it! WW soup - there are loads of better choices and healthier ones that are far more substantial to eat.
Honestly I despise how much money this company takes off people in the name of healthy eating. I don't mind their weight watching clubs, that's fair enough, but their food is a con! You can find things of same nutritional value in every supermarket and it isn't labelled as being so called healthy!0 -
Did anyone watch a programme recently on BBC3 where the celebrity only ate low fat food for a month and ended up putting on weight?
I must admit it was certainly an eye-opener.
I would love to be at least 3 stone lighter (currently 14st 13lbs - that 1lb is such a physiological thing!) so I've taken up going swimming once a week .....would love to go more but life is getting in the way!
I've changed from drinking urns of tea and coffee to drinking green tea (I know its an acquired taste) but if green tea isn't available (I've given up tea and coffee for Lent) I'll drink just boiling water.
I've also started taking food to work for lunch which stops me buying carp off the food van or going to greggs.
I've also bought a calculator from WW so I can get the info I need with regards to the number of points I'm allowed and can calculate how many points foods are worth using that, without the expense of the classes.
OH is using myfitnesspal.co.uk to work out the nutritional value of meals etc if you'd rather use calories.
The one other thing that I'm doing is that I'm not letting anyone know I'm doing it - everyone in my department seems to be on some sort of health kick and I'm pretending to be fatties last best hope - that way if I want a choccie biscuit I can have one with out everyone giving me the do you really want that look.2014 Target;
