I think the model forgot to wear some trousers.

As a bride to be i'd be a bit miffed that all the men will be waiting for the girl to bend over and show all her lady assets.

It is a nice err long top. Ok so i don't have the lovely legs to wear that as is, but then again i wouldn't want to show my lady assests when bending over in for example a supermarket.

OMG These comments are hilarious..have I just been transported back to the victorian times????:rotfl: I hope that the bride will feel good enough on HER day to think all eyes are on her and not be worrying about other peoples outfits...Also I dont know what men you hang around with but im sure most men have seen "lady assetts" before to not be staring and waiting for every girl in a short skirt to make a wrong move haha plus when youre wearing a short dress/skirt you dont go "bending over" There are other way of picking things up lmao :rotfl:

Sorry but these comments are sooooo silly!!!!

I think anything higher than probably two inches or so above the knees, on anyone, no matter what age, is inappropriate for a wedding. Don't forget, weddings are held in church, and are family events, not nights out clubbing, and I think you are all being a bit harsh for criticising the OP. None of us know what her relationship with her stepdaughter is based on a couple of posts about her, it may well be just this one thing that she's annoyed about, or maybe she is a crap stepmum - or the DSD might well be the teenager from hell!

More and more wedding ceremonies are now held in places licensed for weddings, not in churches.

The OP was not backward in coming forward critising her step-daughter in her posts asking whether other people thought she was being OTT, why should she not be criticised by posters who think she IS OTT?

Of course we don't know what her relationship with her step-daughter is - she's not told us anything other than she thinks the step-daughter has chosen the wrong dress, will maybe upstage the bride, and made a (imho) a pretty nasty throwaway comment about 'better for her to cover her boobs and let the legs show."

Well I went to a wedding last year and I have to admit there was one guest there whose dress was probably as short as the one being discussed.

Tbh no-one thought she was inappropratly dressed (probably cost a fortune as well) and noone was oogling her as all eyes were on the bride and groom.

Lets face facts - the SD is 16 not 60 and is probably looking at a dress that she can wear again (very MSE imo). Accessorised properly she will give the appearance of a smart young woman.

Would be interested in some examples though of what the OP feels is more suitable,

I don't think there's anything wrong with the dress, I was at a wedding recentley and a lot of girls (late teens/twenties) had similar dresses on.

I actually ordered that very dress from ASOS recentley and it was longer on me, came down to my knees - I'm 5ft 4" and the model is probably around 5ft 10" so it looks shorter on her.

The other thing for the OP to ask herself is how much do she think the SD should spend on a frock and who should be paying for it?

The girl is 16, its what 16 year olds wear, let her be comfortable. Or, dress her in a Jacques Vert blouse and skirt and stick her in the corner moaning and being miserable all evening.(That will have them all moaning)! The dress is no way OTT, its very on trend, not just for clubbing, (have you seen what teens/early 20's wear for clubbing!!) My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding attire, should make OP pleased that her DSD has chosen a very nice dress to wear for the occassion

As another poster said, by no means all weddings are in churches. And of those that are, how many brides even keep their shoulders covered, let alone their guests? I'd personally much rather have some leg on show than bare shoulders and plunging necklines.

I'm no prude but don't think short dresses are appropriate for weddings, no matter how old the wearer:DPlus I don't like the dress anyway;):D
