OP ASOS have the same dress but in a longer length, could this be a compromise?Sealed Pot Challenge member #982
In 2012 I pledge to:- Save £1 a day, meal plan, be more organised, have NSDs, set myself a budget AND STICK TO IT, throw all loose change into Sealed Pot and not open it till 29th November.:money:0 -
Thats a top not a dress!! Too short, even shorter with big boobs, hope she does wear tights, not a good look with corned beef legs on show(or maybe even spiders legs....)
who says shes got corned beef legs?...blummin heck noone even knows this what this girls figure is really like and at 16 im sure her legs will be fine.. and ive never known so much fuss over a pair of legs..who cares!!..plus if its a summer wedding it would look silly with tights!
Its a decent dress and will look classy because it only legs on show and ive been to plenty of "posh" summer weddings and alot of the ladies have dresses like this on!! Its stylish and on on trend!!You can pick up mags and see celebs from teens to 40s with this style dress on at posh events!
Like I said before im going to another summer wedding and I will be going for a shortish stylish dress with heels too and im sure alot of others will too!!0 -
Flash the flesh?
That a bit over the top isn't it? It's a bit of leg for God's sake, not her boobs and backside!
Exactly you would think she was going out with just a couple of belts hiding her bits the way people are carrying on!!I really dont get what they expect a young person (or older to be wearing to weddings?) A boiler suit??I dread to think!!:rotfl:0 -
I actually wore a navy version of this with the matching bag and hair fascinater...I had loads of compliments even from the old uns:rotfl: That prob seems too short to some people but it was lovely on:D

I appeciate the sentiments behind this comment but from a few things the OP has posted, she seems to definitely have a downer on her step-daughter and says things that I very much doubt she'd say abour her own daughter - at least on a public forum.
I've said before on this thread - if it were my daughter and her Dad's partner had written about her in such a nasty, denigrating way as the OP has - fur would most definitely fly.
If her REAL Mum and Dad think the dress looks good on her (assuming it's the right length) put with the right accesories, I hope the dad has the balls to stand up for this 16 year old's right to choose an outfit.0 -
Without actually seeing the dress on the young lady in question, it is virtually impossible to judge.
Some people can get away with short dresses and still look elegant. Some can't. The same goes for bare legs.0 -

I think you are one of these women who'd have a catfight in the street claiming someone looked at you in a 'funny' way. You have been very aggressive and deliberately provocative from the start, with very little to go on. I read the first 40 odd posts, and didn't see any evidence of the original poster 'having a real downer' on her step-daughter.
She expressed an opinion on her step-daughter wearing that dress and people may have differing opinions but there is no need for people to make out that she is some sort of wierdo or oddball. The fact she is talking about her step-daughter and not her daughter complicates issues a little, but I suspect the responses would be much the same regardless. Because it is a crime in this day and age to have standards. It is a crime to dress modestly and be sexually modest. Proclaim that you sleep with a different person every day of the week and as long as you have taken 'precautions', that's okay. Choosing to raise your children by a set of standards that have a logic behind them rather than 'going with the flow' is deemed wrong. So many of the posts I read here (on this board, not this particular thread) make me shudder. Broken Britain indeed.0 -

Exactly.
Maybe the OP would like to tell us whether she has actally seen the dress on her step-daughter.
And whether she DOES intend wearing it with bare legs and 6 inch heels.
The OP saidDSD would wear it with it with 6 inch heels and bare legs
'would' not 'will'.0 -

As Anguk said the dress here is actually 3/4 inch shorter than the original OP link.
It make so much difference to know how tall she is! I am 5ft 2 and i very rarely pay attention to length and actually go and measure a dress I have to compare.
For example - can you find a dress from DSD that you know is an appropriate length. Measure it. Then compare. You will then know how that dress hangs on her and get an idea of how this one will.
And honestly - how big are her boobs? I don't think a GGG is actually a cup size in the UK! Dont we go GG then H then HH?House saving Targets:
