Why bother going out of your way to get KFC? Why not make your own chicken at home? It'll be cheaper, healthier and tastier!
People who eat in these dives deserve all they get.
Welcome. We've been expecting you.
Out of interest, if you "hate to say it" - why did you bother to post?0 -
The key is planning. Don't allow spur of the moment to dictate your diet. Do your body a favour and plan your eating in advance. Why could you not prepare the chicken in advance so it would be ready to eat at a time that suits?
With the best will in the world, there are times when that just won't work. If I've got an hour between finishing work and seeing a show, and it'd take an hour just to get home and back again, there is no time to prepare food.
A conversation with my partner usually goes like this:
Him: Are you working today?
me: Yup.
him: Should we meet in town, then?
me: Yeah. What time will you get in?
him: 6:10 probably.
me: Ok. Wanna eat in town?
him: Yeah. It'll need to be something quick, though.
And thus, we hit upon fast food.
I do enjoy home made stuff, in fact, I've just made myself a chicken and pasta salad for my work lunch today. But I also enjoy the convenience of buying fast food once in a while.0 -
I'm not sure they'd do this? Certainly don't in any of the KFC's round my way, you have to pay, and then wait for the order to be assembled.
Have to say I've never had any problem with any KFCs in Leeds, finger lickin good!
Well, if I were having problems repeatedly at an eatery I would order then inform them I will pay once I am satisfied with my meal as I always have problems here.
I'd be surprised if this was refused in front of other diners.
In fact, I wonder what the legal position is on this?
One usually pays after a meal when dining out but this doesn't happen with fast food, even if sitting in.0 -

But really, these are just excuses.
If you know you're going to a show, make some food at home, take it to work and eat it en route.
If you really must eat out on a budget, what's wrong with a local cafe or brasserie for good quality, convenient food? Alternatively, why not bring a plastic plate and cutlery, stop at the greengrocer and make yourself a salad?
There is honestly never a reason to eat fast food, it's a complete waste of money anyway given the nutritional content is zero. It isn't filling you up, it is just going to leave you craving more.0 -

I'm sorry, who died and made you the food Police. You have no right whatsoever to lecture me, or anyone else on here about how and where we eat.
If I want a KFC I'll damn well have one thank you. If I fancy a Salad then I'll have one of those.
Frankly, its none of your damned business. This thread was about poor service in a restaurant, not the holier than thou who seem to think they have the moral high ground because they munch on the odd lettuce leaf.0 -

I am not the "food police". I am simply someone who cares about food, local business and helping others make the right decisions. I am not "lecturing" you or anyone else.
I will not apologise for speaking out against people eating fast food though. Supporting these so-called "restaurants" is WRONG and there is absolutely no excuse for it.
You act as though you HAVE to eat fast food, as though it is your only choice, when it is just as a result of your laziness and their marketing that make you walk through their doors to empty your wallet.
Please think twice about what I'm saying and make a change for the better.0 -

Good grief.
For someone who isn't lecturing............
IMO, there is nothing wrong in a bit of fast food every now and then.
To go in there for nearly every meal is wrong.
To never go in there is also wrong.0 -
I can only assume that JJBens doesn't actually lead a life and just sits indoors all day waiting for Waitrose, Fortnums or Harrords to deliver their food.0
