I know they do tend to get results but i do find this emails to CEO's of companies ridiculous. The guy is the head of a major corporation that employs thousands of people and he probably had more things to do that worry about than an order in Newcastle that is missing one piece of chicken! I very much doubt that emails to the CEO ever actually get directly to him as they'll be intercepted by a secretary and forwarded to the relevant person, you may get an email back supposingly from the CEO but in reality you won't. They've already offered you a £1.99 snackbox which isn't that bad, Mcdonalds tend to work on a £5 gift voucher for complaints so best case scenario they'll send you say a fiver (maybe even a tenner if you get lucky). Is it really worth it? If you're prepared to put so much time and effort into this complaint then why didn't you spend 10 seconds just check the order when you picked it up? Especially when this has happened to you 3 times!
You're right about checking the order to ensure everything was in there, but I'm sure you'll understand my reluctance in doing this as it makes one look a bit daft and paranoid to be opening the box and peering at the chicken after receiving their order. :rotfl: I have now started doing this but for the 3 times I was scammed, when I got my order and took it home I just assumed they'd be doing their jobs and not messing up my meal so many times.
I had to laugh when I saw a KFC advert recently that showed a clean-cut lad carefully cooking chicken and handing it to the customer with a smile, while the voiceover tells you your meal will be made by "trained KFC chefs". Absolute rubbish, you should see some of the chavtastic specimens behind the counter in my local branch.0 -
Anyone want to bet on how long it takes before the food snobs arrive.

As for KFC, I have sometimes seen the queue in the place in Cleethorpes Market place, waiting to get some real food at Mr Steel's at their door as well!0 -
Why not pay for your meal only after receiving it giving you the option to check it and paying for what you ordered?
I'm not sure they'd do this? Certainly don't in any of the KFC's round my way, you have to pay, and then wait for the order to be assembled.
Have to say I've never had any problem with any KFCs in Leeds, finger lickin good!0 -
OP,go back to the store and ask for the contact details of the 'Franchise' holder as all KFCs are franchises
Goater,
if you look around the forums you will see that using the CEO email addys does get results, yes he/she may not read them personally BUT it is normally their PA that doesIMOJACAR

Yeah I agree it often gets results but i just find it a bit ridiculous! Maybe for high ticket items like a TV its ok, but really emailing a CEO of a major company because you only got 5 out of the 6 pieces of chicken you've ordered seems a bit OTT! I am sure the PA of the CEO of KFC has not gone rushing into the office yelling "Christ we've got a serious problem in Newcastle!"
The problem with this always emailing the CEO with petty complaints is that it means that companies will start to take steps to stop this happening, otherwise the CEO's inbox will be getting spammed by constant emails of people's complaints. Therefore CEO addresses that people post online will start to be automatically transferred to customer services divisions which negates the point of emailing the CEO directly in the first place! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Complain to the franchise holder, not KFC. I know a family who run a whole bunch of franchises .. they'd be upset to find out their customers were being scammed, and probably fire the store manager if they found out it was his idea...
Alternatively, contact trading standards. I did this when i was routinely given about 1/2 a pint less beer in a 4 pint pitcher in a pub.0 -

Have to say I do agree. Like I say, we used to forget to check and discover the 'errors' when we got home, by then we decided we'd get over it and move on with our lives. It's annoying not getting what you paid for, but at the end of the day it's one piece of chicken.
I worked in a bar at Manchester United's Old Trafford when I was 18 and I got a complaint from an old couple who counted the amount of prawns in their baguette and were narked off because they didn't have the same amount of prawns as each other. After apologising and offering a replacement they said 'no, we'll go somewhere else to eat' and walked off. I honestly couldn't believe how snooty they got over an uneven amount of prawns in a !!!!!!!' baguette.
I'd completely understand why complaints like that would get filtered tbh. I was told that people would do anything to get compensation from a big company, so they probably have to deal with 'petty' complaints a lot.0 -

FAST food chain KFC is to be sued for animal cruelty after a swarm of mice was poisoned by a deluxe boneless box at its Leicester Square branch. :-)0 -
