  • Don't know where they've all got to,was feeling kinda lonesome for a while.
I also applied for a new bank account online and awaiting progress. I have to say I now feel so in control of my finances now that I'm not pretending that everything is ok, I find it empowering to be calling the shots even though I have no money, looking forward to my first months pay as a DFW and alotting my salary to it's various pigeonholes (savings account for budget savings, prepay CC for food&fuel for the month, old bank account for DD's & SO's and new bank account for whats left) makes a change from despairing a week after payday because I have pais creditors so much that I am already broke. Have also explained to family that christmas presents will be small token presents, seems they are all relieved because thats what they all want to do too! Looks like I've finally come out of the financial closet!

  • You sound really together - its great to be so liberated. Fantastic idea with Christmas; don't think I can persuade my son that he won't get a big pressie, but I'm not worrying too much with the little one - she has no idea what's going on and the Relies will go daft over her.

Got £3.64 to last me till Wednesday when I'm hoping my paypal stuff from last week will clear.

    Onwards and upwards!
  • Hi everybody

Hope you all had a good DFW day!

Quiet day for me, apart from got a letter from MBNA, they are declining CCCS offer. They advised me to contact CCCS ASAP, but its hard to get them on the phone. I cant increase the offer without reducing some other creditor, so not a lot I can do except keep offering. Its a late fee plus interest every month & soon the account will go over limit so an over limit fee will be added as well. Sigh!

Other creditors have been quiet..........too quiet!
Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

 This is something I worry about, my payplan offers are all that I have spare but what happens if the creditors won't accept my offers, if I nick money from the advised budget I am going to end up back where I started. Anyone been there and done it? any advice to us?

  • I have MBNA as one of my vultures as well.....they seem to be the most talked about on these boards....All i can say to them,if they decline, they decline, its there loss.......other vultures have been so quiiiittteeee...well payment due on 1st to CCC,so we wait and see......They cant send me to prison and they cant kill me.....
  • Well done Brassicks you put it into perspective. I think these ccs are trying it on in a game of financial chicken. I think if you've made offers and a reputable company is brokering your DMP you have shown yourself willing to deal with your debt and a big bad bank would look very poor if it were to push so far as to cause illhealth and severe hardship. Looking through other boards there are a couple of banks that have stuck to a hard line longer than others but seem to eventually agree. There was one post that sent offers of £1 extra when they kept pressing and that seemed to appease them.
If we haven't got it - they can't have it!!!!!
I've just spent the last hour registering with TNS as a mystery shopper - here's hoping! Got another £3 from ebay sale too. Yippee!!!!!
