I just sent off my claim with interest for £730. HSBC paid up after the second letter but these twits fight you til the bitter end. One thing - I couldn't see anywhere on the online claim form to LIST the charges...is this not necessary? I have a hard copy and one the bank sent me..? How long before I hear anything?0

I have been helping my ex with his Nationwide claim. He had a letter 3 weeks ago telling him that they had acknowledged his court claim and would defend it. Had the whole claim met last Thursday, over £1600. Thanks everyone, my son is getting his first holiday with his dad in 6 years.

So Nationwide have ALWAYS paid out?
My court date is 20th June - they have already paid me back £30 to "cover costs" and £0.05p in refund (ages ago) but can I safely presume that I will receive the rest up to £250 BEFORE 20th June? Really not motivated to go into a court room for 5 mins (although I will should need be of course).
I Understand nobody can give a solid answer here - I have read all of this thread (I think) and tried to take in as much as poss - is there anyone who has actually GONE to court?
Best regards

Hope someone can share their knowledge, - today I hear my bank, Nationwide, have put in a defence to my claim for return of bank charges. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what happens next? I'm a bit worried now.0

Hi to all, am new to this although I have been on this site everyday for the last week!
Here goes,
Hubby and I have an account, held for the last 6 maybe 7 years. Was absolutely useless in the first couple of years and vitually had charges every month, now getting better at managing finances. Anyway, in or around the end of 2003 we got married and finances being at an all time low incurred quite a few charges and went over our overdraft, husband changed jobs so no money was going into the account, thus making the overdraft bigger and bigger as more charges were added to the previous charges and so on. Came to an arrangement with them that we have a repayment limit for our overdraft that reduces every month by £20.00, and thats whats been happening ever since. Sometimes we have gone a little bit over the last repayment, literally by pence resulting in them "freezing our account" until we contact them by telephone, even tho they know that money goes in regularly 3 times a week. After reading all on this site and the recent media coverage I have decided I have had it with Nationwide and have sent my first letter telling them that I want more or less £2,500 with interest refunded. I would just like to hear from anyone in a similar situation as I am not 100% sure of whether you can claim whilst you are on a "repayment overdraft". Please help!0
