I have posted a letter (recorded delivery) today to Nationwide asking for £304.00 in bank charges.

I'm hoping because its a small amount, I won't get too much of a run around. Not holding my breath though.

hmmm...don't think they care about the amount or look at it! think you will have to go through the same stages... I hope you don't as I'm claiming £300 from them too :o
    good luck

Hi, I am new to the forum but have to agree with everyone that this truly is a great site. My query is that I have followed the first two steps but Nationwide have still refused to pay back the charges. I am a full time carer for both my parents and I am very concerned about going to court. I don't have a lot of money and can't afford to go to court and lose. Has anybody else had dealings with Nationwide and had the same problems? If so did you proceed and what happened? I am desperate for advice on this. I am not talking a vast amount, only £600 + interest. Many thanks for any help.

don't worry liberty, everyone is getting thier money back, some take a bit longer, but you will win. Nationwide make everybody go to court, then pay up iat the last minute

Yes, you will have to pay a fee to the court, but you will get it back when the bank pay up
  • My story so far is i have sent the 1st letter with the £10 cheque on 10th April, then received a letter a week later from their Customer Experience Team stating they don't refund bank charges. After soon good advice from Sunnyflower i phoned the banch to see whats going on. I did this a the girl said she would ring Data Protection Team. That was 2 weeks ago. I phoned the branch again as still not heard anything, spoke to same girl on Monday 30th who said she would send the request to DPT as urgent. Checked my account today online and they haven't cashed by £10 cheque, but i've had £146.51 paid into my account under the title of MAIN ACCOUNT. Does anyone know if this is from the Nationwide? Has anyone else had this experience. This was paid in on 27th April.:confused::confused:

Hi again i filed for £610 + interest = £675 + fee so total £755 - i checked my balance and its been credited with 592 - i do believe when their 28 days are up i put this amount in online - i would leave it if it was only small amount off but 163 quid is double what the court fee was so id like that back.

Can I just check with anyone. I've put in claim for just over £3000 and the 28 days is up on Tuesday. The account was closed by Nationwide about 2 years ago. Anyone know if they'll send a cheque or re-open the bank account.

Any ideas'd be welcome as the clock's ticking slowly towards the end of my claim
