  • Hi
Just thought I would let everyone know thatI was told today by a member of the Member Account Servicing Department at Nationwide, that they will pay for all those little interest charges that crop up on our statements each month, even though some banking institutions do not. If you do not claim them they will not pay, but he assured me that if they are included in the claim then they will pay them all. When I claimed my son's charges I did not included them, but I am going to go back and claim for them as well now.

Nationwide today paid up ALL my son's charges that we claimed for, i.e. £1334, plus they cancelled two pending charges. I am well chuffed! Will put a separate post in the Success Forum.

Hi, I'm a bit of a virgin with this posting!

After days of deliberating I've decided to bite the bullet and have just written my 1st letter requesting details of all my charges - wish me luck!
    Amount being claimed from Nationwide - £2794.50 + £524.09 in interest = £3318.59 + court fees = £3438.59
    lodged with Moneyclaim online 29/06/2007

Amount to be claimed from HSBC - £730.00 (charges only). Email sent to customer relations 01/07/2007 & letter sent by recorded delivery 02/07/2007 (to be on the safe side!!!!!!)

  • hi all hope sum1 can help me wiv my nationwide credit card account i sent the 10 pound asking for my statements recieved them this moring which was a very quick response when i first got charged i only paid £10 then my charges went up to £15 and then went upto £20 so nationwide have offered me £115 because they want to charge me £12 everytime i go over drawn and give me the extra money back so do i take the money £115 or go for the full amount the £10 and £15 or just let them charge me £12 and give me the rest back hope this makes sense cheers john
  • hi all, have read some encouraging posts here, pages 1.2.3 and last. Am sendng letter to capital one bank, as they post statements free, and have got that one ready to start. letter one going out monday.

RE: Nationwide, some one has posted above that nationwide will pay out for interest charges as well, is this any interest charge on my account or ones for bank charges only, and do i add interest on these as well using the interest calculator?? have to send the tenner of for statements from them, but going to leave it a few days as i reckon i can find them possibly, and already have them stacked for about £1500 which includes the £349 i'm overdrawn at the moment, which is all charges. already have an A&L account who are brilliant, they have only put one charge on the account to date and when i spoke to them on tuesday, they refunded it as good will. it's a much better account as well. My flex account has no privaleges with it, i.e. no cheque book, o/d etc so can't wait for them to close it.

has anyone else battle cap 1? do they cancel the cards when paid out?, the idiots gave me a second card when i applied online, and got into deep water with that, the £652 i'm claiming back will pay em both of with change YAY.

thanks all and look forward to your replys.

Nationwide replied to my second letter, which was the same response I got to my first, so I'll start the court proceedings stage.
  • Hi, I am new to the forum but have to agree with everyone that this truly is a great site. My query is that I have followed the first two steps but Nationwide have still refused to pay back the charges. I am a full time carer for both my parents and I am very concerned about going to court. I don't have a lot of money and can't afford to go to court and lose. Has anybody else had dealings with Nationwide and had the same problems? If so did you proceed and what happened? I am desperate for advice on this. I am not talking a vast amount, only £600 + interest. Many thanks for any help.
