Hi Mike,
Well their 28 days was up on Monday just gone. In the morning there were no corrections in my account and MCOL didn't mention defence. By the afternoon there were two corrections in my account - making the whole payment - minus the court costs. As of today still no letter from nationwide explaining anything - but by Tuesday MCOL had defence logged. When I checked my account yesterday Nationwide had also cash credited the £120 and I hadn't even had to ask them for it! So I got every penny of my claim back £1491. Good for me as I was made redundant from 10th April and haven't secured a new job yet.
Don't give up!
Carrie xx
Many thanks Carrie,
They have 6 days left to come up with the rest:j
What's the procedure for letting the court know it has been settled?
Cheers,

Hi Guys
Just a quick question. I estimate that over the last 6 years with NW that I have had about £3000 in charges (give or take a penny) and have just been reading the whole process and thought I would see what the interest would be on £3000 and it is £1500 bringing the total to £4500. Is this correct?
Just wanted to know as like to try to plan my plan.
Thanks

Have you estimated this figure on 8% over the total? You need to input each charge into the Interest Calculator giving the date taken as a charge paid in 2001 will incur more interest than a charge taken in 2006.0

I would say... save up for the court costs! I've not heard of any stories where they have paid up without this... Most banks & building societies are paying up a couple of days of the court date ONLY!
Did you threaten court in your letters? I don't think it will matter if you leave it a month until you can get the court money together
(I entered a court case for Monument and the charges are £500 the interest makes it over £600and I would have paid £80 and as I've just started a new job and had one weeks pay to last a month mean't I couldn't afford that so had to put my court claim at £500 = £50 court fee! Hopefully I will get that back as well!

Not too sure as yet as I have only just received nationwide's letter saying they've refunded all my charges and the courts cost and also that they have cancelled £80 of pending charges! Haven't heard from the courts yet. MCOL has logged that a defence was filed and that it was being passed to the local courts. Haven't heard anything yet so am going to wait until I have some correspondance and then I will take it from there.
Take Care

Hi,
This is my first post but I have to admit I have been loitering around for quite a while.
I have followed the step by step plan against Nationwide for £640 + costs and last Tues would have been the 28 day deadline for me to make a default claim however at the eleventh hour they entered a defence. Today I checked my account and a cash payment of £180 had been made and a correction of £59 = total £239, quite a bit short of the amount I was claiming.
My question is what happens next? neither Nationwide or the court have made contact. Will the claim carry on through the court process?
Thanks in advance.0 -
