Hey, I used the online moneyclaim website to issue a claim against Nationwide. They responded quickly saying they had acknowledged the claim and would have a further 28 days to file a defense. On the 28th day in the evening they filed the defense! I have seen that yet because it was this very evening and the defense will arrive in the post.

    However I am not worried.

From looking around on this forum and talking to people .. from what i've gathered .. there is nothing to worry about!
Apparently they fight everyone tooth and nail right to the end, then just before the final moment they settle.

They have too much to lose by taking it further.

However, remember this isn't certain, just the way it seems.

    Hope this helps.

well done i have watching your posts to see how you got on welldone you !!
You should recieve a letter from nationwide explaining which charges they have refunded there will be a number at the top on the letter that is for the person that is dealing with your case. I rang that number as i hadnt got my court fee back and advised them that i would carry on with the judgement if they didnt refund the court charge and within 48 hrs i recieved a full refund of my court fee so dont give up

Excellent thanks needmymoneyback! I will do that! It's £120 better off in my pocket than theirs! Thanks for the advice :T

  • Hi, Iv just had the same letter from the nationwide. By the way, did you send them the £10 fee? I didn't so Im not sure if I can press on yet or if I need to pay them another charge first?.......... Any ideas
  • I recieved a letter from Nationwide Building Society refusing to refund my charges of 250. They gave the following reasons about after 'carefully considering my request..... blah blah 'Terms & conditions" , onus on me to have funds in my account & that if the refunded me it would not be fair to the others who have not had refunds!
I am writing today to tell them that I am disappointed with their refusal to refund & that I am giving them an opportunity to reconsider their decsion or I will start court proceedings
  • I know Nationwide have closed accounts & have threatened to close accounts, but have they stopped this ? I am worried as I don't have a parachute account , I think my credit score would be too low at the moment to open another bank account (thanks to Natwest/MBNA & GE Capital Bank)!! Help !!
