    Hiya

Sent my cheques off and request of bank charges on the 21st March 2007. Rang local branch 2 weeks ago requesting if they had any news. Both cheques have been cashed! Rang yesterday to the local branch and informed them the 40 days were up and I haven't received anything, not even a get lost letter and she asked if I could abide my time.
Last night I filled out the Complaint form and sent that off today. My question is:
What happens if after 14 days I still don't hear anything? I'm not sure how much the charges amount to, so I can't start the MCOL or anything like that.
I will take them all the way once I know how much I'm owed! not frightened of letters and words, I want my money back!!!

    Hi everyone,

Got a letter from my local court today stating that nationwide have acknowledged my claim and intend to defend it, they acknowledged on May the 1st literally 3 days after I filed the claim, they now have until the 25th of May to put in their defence, which I suppose they will do on the 11th hour of the 25th May knowing them!!!!!

Am I right in saying that the majority of people claiming against them get refunded upto ten days after nationwide have filed their defence???

Its so frustrating is'nt it? All this waiting, are you checking your bank accounts to see if they've sneakily put your money in your account? Alot of people on here have said they have been putting in the charges as corrections.

Good Luck , keep us informed :o

Hi to all, this is my first post so here goes.
I am claiming from Nationwide and when I wrote back in Dec 06 the request was for £1600 but I have since found out that added interest took it up to £2000.
I have gone to my local County Court to file a claim and have received a date that Nationwide have till 14th of May to respond (they too fobbed me of by 1stly sending me the bog standard 1st reply to both my 1st AND 2nd letters, so I phoned up and they said they would accelerate my request and still denied me repayment). So I am now waiting to see what happens by the 14th, (knowing my luck they will contest it, yet 2 pals of mine got theirs within 1 month of the 1st letter requesting repayment of charges. So it seems to me that Nationwide go as FAR AS POSS before paying or anything in the hope that we give up etc.
    Will let you know results.
