  • Hi All,

Just to let you know that Nationwide took me almost all of the way.

They rejected my first and second request by letter and also entered an acknowledgement when I filed my claim through moneyclaim.gov.uk (in order that they get 28 days to raise a defence).

Twenty six days after acknowledgement, Nationwide reimbursed my account with the amount I had originally requested, then yesterday (day 27) they reimbursed my account with the interest (that I added in the court process) along with my court fees!

Nationwide will literally take you almost to the very end. Please stick with it. I have evidence that they would rather pay out than go to court.

    Thank you :money: Martin!:T

Hi all! I am thinking about claiming all my charges back from nationwide...however, i have an overdraft of £1300, and a credit card with them. I am worried that if i claim they will close my current account, and credit card account requesting all the monies owed to them, and being a student i am in no position to repay.

How many of you have managed to reclaim money, and keep your account with nationwide?

    Thanks guys :)

    Hi,
I noticed, yesterday, that Nationwide have credited my account with all claimed charges, costs and interest. The annoying thing is that they also bounced five items this week....and have refused to refund the pending charges of £150, so it looks as if I have to go through the process again. This really is tedious. If there were any other way for my finances to be dealt with, I'd be happy never to deal with a bank again. Sadly, thanks mainly to the appalling behaviour of the Halifax (including charges of over £7,000) I had no option but to declare bankruptcy last year, so I'm still in the control of the official receiver.
Still, so far Nationwide haven't threatened to close my account.
    Hugs,
    Rudehamster

Do not fret! Nationwide recently paid up over £1100 to me, and we have current accounts, mortgage and credit card with them. They did however send me a letter saying that although, on this occassion they have refunded my fees, if I can't manage my account properly in future, they reserve the right to close it down following 28 days notice.

    Snap becksta.

I filed on the 20th, nationwide acknowledged my claim with full intention of defending on may 1st, giving them till the 25th of may to put up a defence. Looks like where on the same time scale, would be interesting to stay in touch with you to see how both our claims pan out.

My bf posted the first template letter asking for bank statements to Nationwide on 3 April. He enclosed a cheque for £10.

As yet there has been no response (and they havnt processed the cheque)

Do you think its worth asking if they have received the letter and what is happening?

He posted it to his local branch

    Thanks

    Just a quick update:

They have cashed the £10 cheque from my bf's account so now just waiting for the info
