I have received a letter today from the Customer Experience Team (I think they need to re-think their title). Saying basically i cannot claim, but if i want help with my finances they wil be willing to help blah, blah, blah. As i still don't know what i'm entitled to claim as they haven't sent me the details of my charges from the last 6 years, what should i do next? Should i do nothing ad wait until the 40 days are up, or send another letter? I'm really not sure what to do. Any help would be gratefuly received.
I understand from all the threads Nationwide a propably one of the most awkward to claim from, so i would appreciate all the help i can get.
You have paid for your statements, so I would give the branch a ring and ask when they will be forthcoming! It looks as though they are jumping the gun by sending out that letter; that is the one you normaly get when you ask for all your charges back0 -

Morning!
Well today is the 28th day for Nationwide! There is no money in my account and as far as I can see from MCOL there is no defence either. So..........do I wait until tomorrow and try to start the judgement? Would it let me know on MCOL that a defence had been filed? or do I need to ring the courts?
Can anyone help.........Thanks

Hi All, just a quick question this.
I sent my first letter to Nationwide dated the 8th of March, today is the 18th and I have had no correspondance from them, although they have processed the £10.00 cheque I sent.
Do they have 40 days to respond from the date of the letter, or from the date the cheque was processed??
Thanks, Chris.0 -

Hi Carrie
I would wait a couple of days before trying to file for Judgement by Default. Nationwide have a tendency to sneak in a defence right at the last minute or even if they are late in filing their defence they ask the court for more time which they generally get.
So when MCOL pops up that you can file for judgement resist the temptation for a little while!!

Just a running comentary from my post last night.
I received a letter yesterday saying nationwide do not refund bank charges, but they will speak to me if i'm having difficulty with my finances, blah, blah, blah. Sunnyflower - thanks for the good advice on this thread last night about the letter i received was usually sent after you ask for charges to be refund, and suggesting i ring the branch.
Just to let you know, i have rung the branch who have been most helpful (hope they coninue in the same vain when i ask for a refund of the charges) The nice lady at the nationwide has been onto their data protection team, and they said they will ensure my statements are sent out immediately for the last 6 years. I do hope they sick to this. Will keep posting developments as and when they happen.
p.s i will also probably ask for loads of advice as well as this is the first time i have done this.
p.ss. Does anyone know if you can apply for charges from accounts that have either been dormant or closed?0
