Hiya guys
I sent off my letter to retrieve the charges on 21st March 2007. Still haven't got them, but they've cashed my cheque. Yesterday I was looking at my experian account (that's how dedicated I am to get rid of debts!!!) and Nationwide went in on the 23rd March 2007 under the title Overdraft!!
I do have an overdraft with them of £500.00. Do you think they are looking at closing it before they even give me the charge list? Just a little worried as I do have my wages going into that account at the moment.
thanks guys

I've not posted on here much, but have read & reread this thread.
Open a parchute bank account as soon as possible, i did it online with Smile & recieved everything within 7 days. Change your wages to go into your new account too, as nationwide were closing accounts when people reclaimed charges on them.
My 40 days are nearly up & i've not heard anything although they have cashed my cheque!!
It will take time., but if you can read the majority of this thread you will see the tactics nationwide are trying to put people off claiming, and theres lots of advice on how to deal with it.
Keep going though dont be put offSuccessfully claimed: £2119.14 from Nationwide
Just requested: £289.06 Argos, £140.27 GE Money, £75.52 Grattan, £123.42 Egg, £391.46 Cahoot0 -
Thanks Loislaney
I've read every post that's been put in here and not seen anyone mention about experian credit report! I'm asking my boss tomorrow to change my wages to another account as luckily I do have another account opened when Nationwide screwed me for thousands around 10 years ago. its a pity I can't claim any of that back!! Or I might try!!!
I think my best route is transfer everything to another account where I've had no trouble at all and leave whatevers left!
It gives me loads of hope when I read the success stories and I do hope that mine will be on there one day!
Thank you so much for giving me that little bit extra confidence, that's what really matters when you start to get doubts or worry.
I think we should keep each other posted on our claims
Good luck to you babe, hope you get everything and more

Hi I have just received a letter from my bank now stating that they are very sorry that they can not reimburse me with my charges as they can only reimburse very selected cases and as I knew what the charges were going to be when I opened my account all those years ago and the fact that they inform me that I will have to pay charges a month in advance they can not help. I have go to the point where I go through small claims this does seem rather daunting:eek: what do you lovely people suggest ? Jules0

This sounds like a stalling tactic to me. Remember, they'll do anything to try to stop you pressing ahead and bothering them with this. They're hoping you'll go away!
You might have to follow through on any promise you possibly made to go through the small claims court. Stick to your timetable - not theirs!0 -
Carry on with your claim and don't be put off by their letters and nonsense.
I have to say that the 'selected cases only' is a new one on me. Which bank is this, by the way?I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
Hi again people,
Nationwide have until this coming Wednesday to enter their defence for my case. So if they don't enter a defence which day can I request the judgement? Is it Wednesday or Thursday? I am hoping they'll lodge the defence and pay up anyway like they appear to have done for many people - but it would appear that they are also taking it even further with some people and defending and waiting until right near the court case date before shelling out! We shall see I guess..........
So if anyone can help tell me which day I can start the judgement I would much appreciate it!
Thanks,
Carrie x0 -
hi, sent nationwide letter asking for charges be returned (£2300) there answer was a firm no, what now please, worried about threatening court action.0
-
Just carry on with the steps as laid out by MSE, you've asked them once, so writwe to them again (using the templates) and say your next step will be court action, then you'll probably get another letter back, but either way, when their 14 days are up, start the court route, but that process is on here as well,
We are all at different stages, just keep going, stick to the timescales,
and sit tight!!!!!!0 -
