I have followed the normal process to reclaiming back 2834.50 from Nationwide.

    I have 2 accounts and joined together the 1187.50 and 1647 amounts.(2834.50)
    (2353.73 and 1389.16 with interest added=).£3862.89 TOTAL

I paid £120 to file against them with moneyclaim online and they had until 14 April. They wrote intending to defend the claim then on 5 April they deposited 2 amounts of 999.00 and 278.34. I have read that Nationwide can deposit over several days (we have had Easter weekend since) What happens now as I don't want to accept the partial offer?
I can't seem to work out if people who have won back in full have won the interest? Help!!!!
  • so glad i found this thread as it was the reason for me comming on today.

i will give it till tommorow and try again. how do i know if they have done an acknowledgement of service, do i get told this or just the court.

i am at the same stage but a little ahead of you and they now only have 6 days to put in a defence so i will let you know what happerns if you like

    Hi there,

Realised your 6 days must be up now and was wondering whether you had heard anything from them yet? Really interested in how you get on. It would appear that everyone has got their money back so far but that they dig their heels in and leave it to the very last minute!

Hope you get the result you are looking for!

    Cheers!

    Update

Well at the last minute Nationwide have entered a defence, I'm yet to see it because I phoned the court to find out - it'll be interesting to see what it is.

It seems they are determined to string this one out to the death!!

Well I'll be there fighting back, so their 'putting off' tactics most definitely will not work ;)

    Good luck all

Good luck underground! I was obviously hoping that they wouldn't be lodging a defence but if they've lodged a defence to yours I am guessing they'll do the same with mine! Do you mind me asking how much you are claiming from them?

Make sure you let us know how you go!

    Take Care

    Hi Keithrid,

I have taken them to court and am still in the stage where they have acknowledged the claim and have 28 days to lodge a defence. Their time is up on 18th April so not long now! There are a couple of people here who have had a defence lodged right at the last minute and then they will be given a court hearing date. It would appear that they usually pay up before an actual court hearing though. Many people are getting their money back or offers of money before the defence is lodged. If no defence is lodged then you will win by default and can lodge a judgement on them.
Nationwide seem to leave it all till the 11th hour but the general concensus of opinion is that they are just pushing the buttons to see if you'll back down.

Hope that helps! I will post again when I have got to the end of my 28 day period.
