Hi all
Thanks for your advice so far but yet again I need some more.
Nationwides deadline of Friday, 13th April is fast approaching for them to supply my statements but so far other than the letter answering every question except the one about the statements I have had no reply from them. I also wrote again as advised by you guys to the Data Protection Team and also reminded them they at that point had 19 days to send the statements but still no statements have arrived.
What do I do if by the 13th there is nothing from them?
Hope to hear
Jojopo
Hi Jojopo
You have given them every opportunity to fulfil your statement request, and even reminded them!
If you've received nothing by Friday you should write to the Information Commissioner to complain. You might as well wait 'til after the weekend as that gives them a little extra time and your letter probable wouldn't get to the IC before Tuesday anyway!
Click the following link to the data protection complaints page of the IC website:

Good luck with your claim

had a statement come from Nationwide a couple of days ago.
I`ve a flex account, thats only been up and running a couple of months.
They have charged me 3 times @ £30.00 each time, for a bounced direct debit.
This was for a BT phone account- we went for their internet package a month ago, and they led us to believe that only the money for the internet would be taken by DD, not for all the calls too...
So, there wasn`t enough money to cover the DD.
I have now cancelled the DD with BT and told them that i want the paper payment system back- thats seems to be going ahead- but do you think that i might be be able to contact The big N and just ask if they will refund these charges, and appeal to a good nature...
Or are pigs flying well at the moment?
Many thanks for a reply or Two.

Hi Redsetter
I would say you should simply call Nationwide and very politely explain what's happened and that it won't happen again and could you possibly be refunded please!
This usually works for the odd charge, but not always. It sometimes depends who answers your call!
If they won't refund via the phone then start Martin's process.
Of course it's entirely your choice, but 90 quid is 90 quid!!

sorry . . .it was the better nature bit. Believe me, I have tried appealing to that. In the old days when you could talk to someone in a branch you might have had some chance. Now it's . .'computer says NO'.0 -

From MCOL FAQ....
Q. I am entering judgment by default but a message comes up stating you cannot enter judgment by default at this time, why does it say this?
A. This is because the defendant's time for filing a response has not yet passed. If their deadline fell on a weekend or bank holiday they are given the next working day to respond. It may also be because the defendant has filed an acknowledgement of service, which gives them an extra 14 days to respond.
