Nationwide claimed £994
Recieved £914 - will chase up for £80 court costs
Started claim on 17/01/07 they paid up yesterday.
Thanx to all who've helped.
hi, as someone who is also claiming from Nationwide, but have had no response to two letters now, when you say you started the claim on 17/1, can i ask at which point you started? was it a request for statements, or the MCOL stage? congrats and hope you dont mind me asking!0 -
i have today received court papers informing me that nationwide intend to defend my claim of £3900. This does not worry me as I am confident that the banks have realised that they cannot defend themselves in court and they are just playing the system. All this does for me is that it is confirming they have no feelings for their customers. I would dearly like to have my money back but also I would love to have my day in court with them.0

I have just received a letter which came in an Alliance and Leicester envelope and was an Acknowledgment of Service. I have just read up on this on the main site and it seems to be just a way of them getting another 14 days to defend their case. This is highly unlikey as I am only trying to get £600 back for my son. Good luck with yours and keep us posted of the progress you make.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

did they close your account down? I'm in the process of claiming a similar amount to yours, but a bit concerned as I've got several accounts with them, including our mortgage0 -
Hi
I sent my 1st letter to nationwide claim back just over 2k for charges they have charged. Most of these charges took me over my overdraft and then they decided to take my overdraft of me in december which left me with just over £500.00 in charges in 1 month.
I had no response to my 1st letter think they just binned it did not send registered post, sent another letter last monday got a response on saturday besically saying they could not refund charges because then all other memebrs would do it, basically i think it was there blanket style letter.
What option do i have now- please can someone advise- i was thinking of doing another letter and stating i would accept 1500 instead of 2k and if still a no then to threaten court action
please could someone advice thanks- and has anyopne had a refund from nationwide0 -

If you said you would take them to court, then do it when the time has expired. If you pursue it, you will very likely get all the full amount.0 -
well you can only claim back 6 years without relying on the Statute of Limitations Act s.32 so work out whether its worth the effort first.LegalBeagles0

Hi all,
I stupidly forgot it was the first of the month today, and forgot to transfer money for my rent standing order from my Nationwide e-savings account into my current account. I do this every month, and this is the first month I have forgotten. I logged onto my internet banking at 10pm and transferred the money then, but my 'available balance' was showing £24 less than my 'account balance'. There were no details as yet on my online statement as to what the charge was. Anyway, now I've transferred the money into my current account, but it hasn't gone anywhere yet, so I assume they tried once to send it to my landlord's account, it failed, and now they will try again tomorrow?
Do you think I could claim this £24 back? I know it's not that much, but I'm kicking myself! Also, should I telephone Nationwide tomorrow, to ensure that the money will now be transferred to my landlord, otherwise I'll have him on the phone asking where his money is too!
Thanks a lot for any help.0
