hi, how long should i wait for nationwide to send back my statements? have had no response from them (they received letter 6th Feb - bless online tracking) wondering how long whole process will take, ie. are they dragging things out on purpose?0

If you asked for your statments under the DPA then they can take up to 40 days to send you your statments.0

i have just got back my statements and worked out ive been charged to a total of £3063 without interest. i have an overdraft on my account will they isntantly tell me to pay it0

Can anyone please help?
My son has been charged over £500 and the NW have refused to refund any of the charges. My question is, are the rules the same for building societies as banks, in terms of reclaiming charges?0 -
Nationwide Claim £2934.50 + £689.39 interest (I'm helping out a friend)
RECEIVED £2934.50 + £689.39 interest + £1.96 in pending charges!!
08/02/07 Court Papers were deemed served
13/02/07 Nationwide acknowledged an intention to defend
23/02/07 All money received in account:T !!!!!!!! and letter received today!!
No mention of account being closed, and I learnt that they can't touch the other account either! What a success!!!! I was very fortunate to be in Nationwide with my friend yesterday when a cashier told us that the money had been paid, I lost all awareness of where I was and punched the air whilst shouting a very loud "YES".:j I'm going to be helping as many people as possible now using my own experience! :rotfl:
So here goes - Blender - Yes I believe so. It worked for my friend... as you can see they'll deny all the way, well nearly!
jennyuk - from my experience when they paid up they money went straight into the account and therefore covered the overdraft. I'm not sure what state your account is in but if they want the overdraft cleared (esp if it is unauthorised) then make them an offer e.g. £20 per month.0 -
acguest wrote:Just a quick question - when you send the next letter (after they have ignored your 1st one) ..... do you re-calculate the interest owed? Or always leave the figure the same?
I also had this question a while back but I left them the same0 -

As you are asking for this information under the Data Protection Act you have to do this via the address in the first post in the Reclaim Help Thread, link in my signature.0

When I got home from work I got the post - there was a letter from nationwide saying we had been refunded just over £6000, plus 240 refund for costs, and £20 for an impeding charge.
Is that it then...? Nothing else?
I went to check the account online (which we don't use anymore we have an A+L account) but it wasn't there. Just a savings account and an ISA were visable...surely they would have informed us if they had closed the account?
Assuming they didn't inform us and they did close the account, how do we get the money? A cheque? There was no mention of this on the letter.
Also - there was an overdraft on the account. If the account is now closed does it mean that is no longer an issue? I expected nationwide to demand we use some of the reclaimed bank charges to pay the overdraft.
So many questions and so few answers.
Any advice would really be appreciated!
Thank you.
As you are asking this question on a Friday I would say leave it until Monday and check again when their systems are updated, also some banks actually say this will be refunded within 7 days.0
