, i have rear in these forums that the consumer action group have templates etc to help me fill out any forms but all i can se is a package i have to buy for £11.99 , am i looking in the right place , PLEASE PLEASE someone give me some support .

You need to register on Consumeractiongroup, and then go to your appropriate bank forum. You cannot see the templates unless you register.
Also, if you read on bank forum which applies to you, you will see lots of other people in the same boat. Please read all you can before jumping in. It is a simple process, but much easier if you read up on it first.
Remember, you thought your money had gone, so it is a bonus when you get it back, and you will, if you understand why you can get it back. Understanding will also stop you panicing when the banks won't play ball, and try to fob you off.
  • So far...

12/12/06 - Wrote 14 day letter to Nationwide (estimated £1542.80).
06/01/07 - Received letter stating that Nationwide's fees are in line with Terms etc.
08/01/07 - Filed Court Claim online.
10/01/07 - Nationwide acknowledge claim and state that they will defend it.

Today I recieved £608.70 plus my £120.00 MCOL fee from Nationwide. My claim was for £1542.80 (estimated). Do I accept the £608.70 or start a judgement for the outstanding amount?

As it was an estimated claim I do not know for sure that they owe me £1542.80, but I sure could do with that!! Is their £608.70 payout just a goodwill gesture, or are they correct when they say that they've gone through the records and that is the correct amount?

    What next?

    Thanks in advance.

HELLO ECOLOGI , best thing from the outset is to get your figures exacty right , its just a matter of getting all your statements , sitting down for an hour or two and getting the exact amount , i doubt they would have worked it out to be honest and yours and there figures are miles apart , unlike me (see my posts above) your lucky to get an offer , out of interest please read my post above , did it go as far as what my claim has

I had the Acknowledgement of Service form back, with Nationwide's 'in-house' solicitor's name on it saying they would defend it. I got that through the post on Friday and today (tuesday) they paid the money in to my account.

I sent a DPA letter off today so I can thoroughly check my charges before taking this further.

    Good luck with your case.

  • Hi I totaled up my bank charges from the last 6 years and the combined total of charges was £6600 across 2 accounts, (£5840 in 1 account).

I wrote off to them asking for it back ie. sample letter 1 and it said that I signed the terms and conditions.

I have written back saying i will accept £5000 for an out of court settlement. I have done this so it is within the £5000 maximum for a single claim. Is my claim considered a single claim or double because its for 2 accounts?

Anyone else doing this with Nationwide at the mo.

I wonder what the success rates are with different banks. How many times have people won vs. been unsuccessful with the claim?/
