Hi all, just a quick message to spur everyone on, I received a letter today from the "Member Service Department" offering me full amount claimed as a full and final settlement, with no further conditions attached. Have posted on Success thread.
Keep fighting everyone, Nationwide are stubborn beggars, but it seems they always pay up in the end.0 -
I'm in the processes of making a county court claim but the website is telling me that it's going to cost £80. I know it's added to the total but still i'm worried that I can't afford to give £80 out first
. I'm only claiming £819.03.:j
Does this sound right? Also, once I have completed the process what are the success rates?
Thanks in advance guys?!!!0 -
Today was the last day before I could enter judgment by default bt the sods acknowledged it! So now I have another 28 days (I think) to wait, but what happens if they defend it? How much longer do they get before they have to pay up? x0

I just thought i'd give this warning to anyone trying to obtain statements for details of their bank charges with the Nationwide. I first requested my statements back in March. After numerous phone calls to DP department i finally received a 'CHARGES SUMMARY'. 2 A4 sheets detailing what i thought were all my charges. After using Martins calculator on this site, the charges plus interest came to £864.00 which i was quite pleased with. I wrote asking for my money back, which they obviously replied with the usual get lost letter. Today my local post office handed a package which they've had since May. When i opened it, to my surprise it was actual copies of all my statements from the last 6 years. I've just re-entered them on Martins calculator just to check all was correct and the total is actually£1,784.00. Over double. I'm glad i've been a bit lax sending the 3rd letter advising them i'm taking them to court as i would have used the old amount using info from that summary sheet they orginally sent me.
I will now be using the new revised list i have received today.
So, just a warning to anyone who has received one of these 'summary sheets' instead of the actual statements. HOLD OUT FOR THE STATEMENTS, it may just be worth your while.0 -
Hi first time poster here.
I requested my charges summary which duly came.
I calculated my charges to be £1500.
Sent away the first request letter from here to reclaim £1600+ including charges, got the usual reply.
Sent the 2nd letter away on June 9th, so the 14 days is up this weekend.
Should I give them longer or take it to the Ombudsman? (not court as I live in Scotland and the charges are more than the £750 limit)
As an aside, I was overdrawn on the account and they passed that to an agent to collect, I have informed them that I am reclaiming charges and suprisingly enough they have been ok about giving me time. The account was still active as of when I started the claim, but I checked yesterday using the bank card and the cach machine kept the card and referred my to the bank.
Should I read anything into this?
I received nothing in writing from them telling me that the account was being closed, I share my girlfriends account just now, but this leaves me without an account of my own at present.0 -
Started mycol on the 6th May 07, defence 26th May 2007... just got transfer of proceedings letter today.
transferred to Woolwich County Court.
Thought that might come in handy for anyone just behind me in the proceedings.
What does this bit mean?
1. The filing of an allocation questionnaire be dispensed with in this case unless the District Judge at the court of transfer orders otherwise.**
please note that an allocation fee may be payable in this instance. Please contact the court of transfer for further details.
does that mean that I might have to pay further fees? I know that some courts are not bothering with the allocation questionnaire but what is the further fee bit for????
I'm rubbish at this legal stuff... I always thought it was about right/wrong and logic but it's not so, that leaves me in the dark!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -

Hi All Not sure if Im in the right place, pretty useless at the techy stuff, have been searching for the Nationwide Thread for days, end up reading every other thread for info. Anyway I started my claim in February and I am up to the defence stage, I called the court today to ask if Nationwide had filed a defence (they had until the 25th June), the court told me that they were dealing with the cases in order?? and I have to wait, possibly a week - I asked if this meant that Nationwide had not filed a defence and was told "not necessarily" has anyone else experienced this and should I just wait or push for an answer, I don't want to give up now, it's been tough going. also claiming from Barclays, haven't found the thread for them yet!!Good Luck to everyone and look forward to receiving any advice and inspiration.0
