    I'm claiming £4400.00+ interest...Got offered £1000.00
  • Hi

I have today received a partial offer from Barclays which is about 1/3 of my claim, I think Ive decided not to accept the offer. (GULP)
Has anyone got a template letter for rejecting the offer? The banks letter said to ring if I wanted to discuss the letter but I would much rather put it in writing.

    Many Thanks

    Claim £1580
    Offer £680

keep all discussion limited to 'in writing' to be on the safe side. Telephone calls are too easy to deny by the banks as I have learned in the past to my cost.

I sent my first letter off 14 days back claiming >£2000.

Today, the 14th day, I received the "sorry you are unhappy with our service but we're looking into your complaint" guff, so I'll be off down the post office at lunchtime with the LBA.

    Grrrrr.

    Hi Guys,

Sent my statements to Barclays several weeks ago and they explained they would let me know by this week or give me feedback? nothing though?

How should i proceed? i did phone them and they said it takes time?

Also in april will they stop paying out on charges? Because i have a few more credit cards

    Thanks
  • 6th march 2007 I took my letter into my branch along with the reccomended cheque for £10 and was told the cheque wasnt needed and would be returned and that my letter was being passed on to the complaints department. I will keep you all up to date as and when i know more....also took letter into co-op for the wife....

28th march 2007 Received letter advising that complaint is being dealt with but cannot guarantee time scale....no news from the co-op....

20th April 2007 Received details of charges from the co-op with cheque returned stating this is a free service now going to send next letter requesting refund...watch this space....

26th April 2007 Received letter from Barclays stating they now have copies of statements and are able to look into my complaint, although I haven't actually made a complaint yet just requested the comprehensive list of charges...are they anticipating the next stage here? Or could it be delaying tactics? As it's well over the 40 day period??? Plus they say they will be in contact by the 20th May 2007. Think I'll give them a ring in the morning...2 B Continued.....

23rd May 2007 Received letter from Barclays stating they are prepared to make an offer of over £400 towards the total amount I am seeking, although I have still not had a copy of my statements and not yet made any formal complaint regarding my charges so it would seem they are surely anticipating my intentions. Going to ring them to find out what they think my total charges were....
