Many thanks for taking time out to reply in such a sarcastic way. I have read threads, a number of which have reported success after the Supreme Court ruling. My question was I have not heard anything from the bank or the court saying my case was being thrown out or anything and just wondered if I would here anything from them.

I think perhaps you are getting credit card charges and bank charges muddled? Credit card charges can still be claimed so there is plenty of success stories for those but unfortunately there has been no success with bank charges since the court ruling unless you go down the financial hardship route - even then they have no obligation to refund and people are generally reporting a maximum of 6 months charges back. If you haven't heard anything from the court then you can check with them what is happening with it - I haven't heard anything regarding Barclays but I know some other banks have been requesting for claims to be struck out over the last few months and if they do do this there is little you can do to argue against it now. If you want to take it to the FOS then you need to cancel the court case since they will not investigate while there is a court claim pending.
  • my bank charges have been in STAY for nearlly 18 months too but the other day i decided to speak with my court regarding this.

They have reviewed my case and the District Judge is requesting my evidence (bank statements)

Hopefully something will come of it. you never know
  • Hi Newbie, Sorry!!!
Ive had all my statements back (barclays Additions Account) and worked out all my charges, I used the template for the letter and have everything ready to send. Just over 2ks worth of reserve fees, etc and I thought I would call the bank to find out the address as to send the claim letter and they told me that Barclays has had a court ruling saying that you can no longer claim the charges?? Is this true??

The fact that you bumped a thread last used in 2011 should tell you that you've rather missed the chance of reclaiming historical bank charges.

Only if you meet the bank's "hardship" criteria will the Bank even consider refunding (some) RECENT charges. If you tell the Bank you are in hardship then ensure that you don't have payments for subscription television, gym membership, restaurants etc, as these are regarded as non-essentials.

You can forget about the £2K of historical reserve fees...
