Just phoned up again, and the advisor said he's not able to help me over the phone because the accounts are closed, and I need to go to my local branch. I'll try to pop down tomorrow if I get up in time. If this is going to take much longer though, I'll probably just put in a claim for the total amount (plus interest) they've shown me on the statement. £3000 would come in quite handy right now...
If they do say that ask for it in writing and then once you have it, email: centralwaiverteam@fsa.gov.uk
This is specifically to complain that Barclays have breached the FSA Waiver and you have proof. I would write to them(Barclays) once more telling them that they need to comply with 13.5 on the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges and Data Retention.0 -

I'm just about to start the process of reclaiming charges, and would like to know how Barclays have been with you since reclaiming. Basically is it worth me opening another account somewhere else just in case if they get shirty?Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

Have just added up my nieces bank charges ,about £5500 ,without interest. and noticed an account fee of £7.50 pm ,on asking her about this ,she said that because she had an overdraft she had to have this additons account,????. after a couple of years she questioned this fee and cancelled it...... can she reclaim these payments back.?? this fee goes back longer than her 6 yrs charges , should they tell her when she started and finished paying this fee if she requested the info. and can she still reclaim this even though its been longer than 6 yrs0

I am asking because if you say 6 years then that phone calls needs to be made AGAIN since the 6 year clock stopped on 27th July 2007 so the statements should be from July 2001 to present.0 -
date on neices first statement from Barclays is JAN 2003, so can she request list of charges from 2001, and claim from then until present, being 8yrs0

If you repost this on the PPI forum someone will answer the question for you and explain the process you need to follow to sort this out.0
