We're going down the hardship route with Barclays. We've worked out our charges, and phoned them again, and they said they'd send us a harship expenditures form.
Today, we recieved two letter from them, in separate envelopes, but both sent yesterday.
One which contained the hardship forms etc for us to fill out, and the other saying that we may not need to fill out any hardship forms, and to wait to hear from them by the 14th april.
How odd.... not sure what to do now?0 -
Hi all,
Hopefully you guys can advise me with the best stance to take in my case.
I want to reclaim bank charges from Barclays as over the last few years we've incurred quite a few. However my HUGE worry is that we've had this joint account with them for nearly 10 years now, with a large overdraft facility. I've read its wise to open a parachute account but no new account can give us the same level of o/d.
If I make the claim it would fall under the Financial Hardship umbrella but tbh I'm really worried i start the reclaim procedure and then they close our account or ask us to repay our o/d or even take away the facility. Is this likely? We would not be able to repay it and we still regularly use our o/d
any advise would be great.
thanks guys

i have just printed the letter to ask for my last 6 years of info; however after feeling inspired by watching martin's video, i am now a little aprehensive. i have my business acount with barclays as well and i am worrried that they may ask me to close my accounts. can they do this??? i have an overdraft that i can not afford to pay, if they ask me to close it. any help welcomed. thanks.0

we sent off our hardship forms, and we're due to hear back from them by next tuesday at the latest.
we're phoning them every couple of days just to basically let them know that we're still here, and so that they realise just how hard up we are at the moment.
the lovely man on the end of the phone said today that he wishes he could do something or hit a 'yes' key on his computer, but another department is dealing with it (he gave us their number, but they wouldn't tell us anything - just said to wait to hear from them).
so it's just a matter of waiting to hear from them now.
FYI - we're claiming £2540 + 8% interest.0 -
Hi all can someone help with reclaiming bank cargers, when contacting your bank for your bank charge statments using the first letter you need to put your account number on the top of letter if you have more than one account with bank do you put all your account numbers on one letter or send letters for each!!!!0
-
put all your account numbers on - a Subject Access Request (which is the letter you are sending) is for information held about you as an individual, not as an account number. So one letter, one £10.LegalBeagles0

try the latter - I've found some advisors I've been put on to not very professional - this bunch may be more so (or phone them up to check).0
