Barclays Bank (merged)

First of all thanks to all concerned for a great site. I have previously used this site along with the template letters and advise and had two succesful claims paid with HSBC and Capital One - these of course were completed before the test case.
However my query relates to charges which I had incurred with Barclays Bank in the last six years. My account was closed and the debt of around £2000 passed to an agency. I have now repaid the debt in full to this agency and have received written confirmation of this. I have one question really:
1, Can I still claim for the refund of the charges from Barclays even though they passed the debt on?
Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated as the account was opened in April 2003 and I realise I am a little close to the six year deadline

We decided to phone Barclays instead of send a template letter, as advised on the guide.
They were more than helpful  and said if we wanted a comprehansive list of charges for the last 6 years, plus statements, then it would cost us £5. But if we just wanted the comprehansive list of charges for the last 6 years, and no statements, then it would cost us nothing
So we opted for just the charges and she said they would be with us within the week
I'm not sure if we qualify for extreme hardship, but it certainly feels like it  We're going to try that route first as we have nothing to lose...
So to anyone looking to claim through barclays, i'd suggest phoning first :beer:0 -
A BIG THANK YOU BECKI
I had allready spoken to them this morning and had just finished typing my statement request letter. Ive just called them and they will be sending this information in five days! - apparently this is two days for the information to be requested from Glasgow and 2-3 days for posting! my account was opened just over six years ago and i am looking to "get this one in " fairly quckly!

Sent my letter to reclaim and recieved two letters back one saying they acknowledge the complaint but are placing it on hold until the test case has finished even though ive claimed under financial hardship, the 2nd letter refers to the personal reserve fees and they have flat out said we will not be refunding these charges and state that in june 2008 they wrote to all current account customers stating about the new charges and that with the reserve it is fair and transparent as it shows how much you can use and that the fee is £22 for a five day period that you use the reserve. My complaint about the reserve will be stored for 8 weeks and if i have not made contact they will consider it case closed.0
