Check out this thread m8....it's all HSBC...;)0 -
It appears Barclays offered a defence to my claim some time during yesterday (the 29th day!) so my claim was rejected.
Apparently there is now a delay while the case is assembled for court. The lady at MCOL hinted that few cases actually go to court but guess what? In 12 days time that £12.00 ruling will be in place and I'll end up losing £700!
I suppose it's all part of the game and it's foolish of me to imagine that a big bank would not play all the angles...0 -
HELP! I've just recieved a letter from barclays offering me £1000...my sole account claim is for £1158 and joint account claim is for £4010...they have told me twice over the phone that they would deal with both claims together in correspondence...thing is that this offer letter AND acceptance slip only has my SOLE account number on it and sort code (joint account at another branch so different sort code)...Letter says:
RE: sort code ??-??-??, Account number: ???????? & ????????
(both the account numbers are the same account...guess it should say joint account number but it just doubled up my sole account number instead?!?)
Acceptence slip just has my account number on it...Found out this offer was coming on 5th march and that it was being offered to cover both my claims (on phone) cheeky beggers...
So my question...can i take a copy of this acceptence slip, sign it, and still go to court over the remaining amount for my joint account, using my copy as proof i only settled for settlement on my sole account, OR reject it, as it says 'full and final settlement', and claim the lot back through the courts???
Any Advice welcome...0 -

The bank has 40 days to provide the information/statements then you can complain however phone them and ask if the information is on its way.0 -

From what you have said you need to reject it and put the claim through the court system as the offer is covering both accounts.0 -

I just wanted to say a big thanks to inespo for the posting regarding Barclays delaying tactics - I was a bit panicked that I wouldn't even make it past the 1st step but now am feeling a bit better. I'll let you all know what Barclays next excuse is when I get it. Good luck to anyone else who is taking on Barclays.0
