I've just been back to the Money Claim Online site and it accepted my request for a judgment at a minute past midnight on the 29th day after the claim was deemed to be served (5 days after its issue).

So I guess I have answered my own earlier question regarding 28 'clear' days.

The MCOL site states that my judgment request will be heard at 10.00am, so that's my next deadline...
  • I have sent both of my letters to my local branch of BARCLAYS. My first letter having waited just over 2 weeks for a response was ignored. I sent my second letter and having waited just over 7 days for a response, that too was ignored. Letters and statements were sent rec delivery and Royal Mail have confirmed that they have been delivered. Is it now time to start the court process? I didnt think I would need to!

    Regards

    Hi,

I have had two claims with Barclays. The first (For just over £1,000) they dealt with very quickly and the money was in my account within 10 days.

The second claim (for £1400) they have completely ignored. However I did call them today and asked what was happening and they said an offer was in the post for £500, which of course I declined.

It is perhaps worth giving them a quick call to see if there is any progress with your case as a letter might be imminent or an offer might be made on the phone. If you get no joy, I would definitelyuse Moneyclaim and go for it.

I have a feeling the banks are waiting for the Ombudsman's ruling in the next couple of weeks and are using stalling tactics until then.

Good luck and go for it!
  • I started my claim against Barclays in May last year & they have just paid up today. They have used every stalling tactic imaginable over what is a fairly modest amount compared to most claims (£381.00) & all correspondence from them was on the day of the deadline I had set or shortly afterwards.

My advice is to carry on according to your schedule as long as you are being reasonable. If a satisfactory offer is made you can always halt proceedings.
  • Thanks to both of you. I will give them a ring and if I get no joy I will proceed with my schedule.

    Regards

when y ou guys are calling barclays, who and where are you calling. i have been calling the Liecester service centre. i call 0845 609 08 06

  • Hi
Not sure if I'm in the right place as it's the first time I've posted a message...

Anyway, I sent the first letter to Barclays Bank asking for £900 + interest. They offered me £430 in full and final settlement. I wrote back saying thanks but no thanks as I wanted the £900. They have written back saying they won't pay me the full amount but still offering the £430. Should I now file a court claim?

Just when I thought I had got to the final hurdle, my request for a judgment by the MCOL system has been rejected.

    Now what?

Has anyone else been to this point?
