    Hello All,
My first post here, having been an avid reader of the site
A big thank you to Martin and the team for an excellent service to us consumers!!
I have followed the procedure on reclaiming bank charges, have collated all the specific dates and amounts and written to Barclays using the template letter as a basis.
After about 14 days, I had a reply from Barclays, thay say they want up to eight weeks to process my claim, my question is, in my letter, I gave them 14 days for a full response so should I write again to give them 7 days notice before I start court proceedings?
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Simon

Send the next letter m8...It's just their stalling tatics....
That letter is hardly a full response so now your gonna give them another 7 days with your next letter....

After sending letter to Barclays in regards getting my statements with a £10 fee i recieved letter friday stating that they recieved my letter and have decided to give me my statements free of charge with the check i sent them enclosed with the letter, it also stated that they will send on the statements at a later date...is this a delay tactic and is there anything i can do to hurry it up..Im worried that i will have to start the whole process again..why didnt they just send on my statements with the letter??????

Any advise would be great cos im getting very, very frustrated...

If you made the request under the DPA act, the fact they refused the payment doesn't mean they're exempt from the 40 day rule. You must allow them this time and then take action if they've not provided the information.

I am a day behind you! Mine is served on Wednesday.... it means with us that when they aknowledge service, the further 14 days has easter in the middle.....that should put the pressure on!

Good luck! May we wipe the smile off of Barclays face:beer:
  • hi, hope someone can help, sent LBA to barclays 25th february for total of £1068 including interest, had a letter last week offering £380, sent refusal letter on the 8th march ,i am thinking of claiming with MCOL , is the 14 day deadline 14 working days from the LBA or 14 straight days, sorry if i sound a bit thick xxx
  • Hi I am new to this site and was wondering whether you can help. I sent the letter off requesting statements or a list on 26/2 I have received a letter back with the cheque stating
'Please be aware that the bank is not under any obligation to present information to any particular format. However, you may of course obtain data from statements and these will be supplied to you in the next few weeks without charge. we would advise info prior to 2000 is stored manually and will take longer to retrieve. There may be an increase time required to collate the information you have requested....

I think they are saying I il not be replied to within 40 days ?? any suggestions.

    Thank you in advance
